This week and a bit, as well as work I saw friends, I went to RBG at the theatre, went to dinner, I had a staycation in a hotel and another dinner.

I had our awards dinner, four workouts, a clear cancer blood test, one golf lesson, two saunas, plus a movie sleepover, and had the fam for the long weekend, saw moko at their place times three, we celebrated amazing achievements, saw my friends continue to take on the world, reinvent themselves, we’ve got new babies cooking, there was so many things. So many joys, so many challenges, so much love. I’m incredibly lucky and grateful.

I’m proud of myself. Even planted some herbs and winter broccolini which is my best unasked for advice for ROi in your garden.

This time next week, get ready for lots more photos.

Happy mothers day a day late, to all the women;

mums, mums who carry grief of no longer getting to hold their kids, women who are childfree by choice, or by lifes shite.

Mostly this is homage to our mums & our grandmothers & their mothers, who carried the eggs that we hatched from, inside them from birth.

Our ancestry of women who survive grief & hardships, who make a village & love other peoples kids, who take care of others & put themselves last without even noticing they did.

It’s not easy being a woman. Sometimes it feels like we get a short straw.

I keep this love in a photograph 📸

It was 30th March 2012, Miami Beach. Walking down the road past the Fillmore Stadium, there was a sign saying Snow Patrol playing that night.

Walked up to the lady at the ticket office and bought two tickets, and asked her who was opening. She said ‘I don’t know some guy we’ve never heard of but he’s popular with some people given all the tickets we’ve sold to teenage girls.’

Arrived at the show and the place was half empty apart from a gaggle of girls at the front and this wee red haired guy was playing on his own.

The Snow Patrol crowd made its way in and we all were transfixed by Ed and his guitar. He played ‘The A Team’—- remember that?
‘white lips, pale face, breathing in the snowflakes…’
and other songs with loops he made.

After he finished the girls all poured out and Ed was in the lobby at a table signing CD’s and getting photos with anyone who wanted them. Maybe I should do a TradeMe listing for this one!

And that’s that story. Wondering who else saw an act early on that you never knew would blow up? Also Snow Patrol @snowpatrol was AMAZING and was on my playlist for years afterwards.

My brunette phase is another story.
