The Devil Wears Prada

So let's be blunt, this is not the absolute train wreck as was described to me when a group of MT students went to see it.

I don't think it's anything special, but the casts have switched around since and I thought most of the cast were amazing! The ensemble absolutely carries the show and it really comes to life around the middle of Act 1 and all of Act 2, despite a very rushed ending due probably to having too many songs in the earlier parts of the musical. Perhaps loosing a couple solos would have benefited the musical greatly.

The choreography was better than I thought it would be and overall I had a pretty good time with it, and getting to see Nat and Amber again was a huge bonus! Love you guys! by @rory.stock2

Tonight I went to see a new musical theatre show, a musical version of Love Labour's Lost. Loved the first, and I tell you what Shakespeare has been working on the sequel for about 429 years so must be fucking legendary when it releases.

In all seriousness tho Shakespeare works really well as a musical performance, the style just fits, and I had a bloody good time.

Everyone in the cast was iconic, especially King @artmyster44 who was just born to play a Shakespearian character!

I may have told this story before, but I wasn't big on Shakespeare in the past, never really interested me until I went to Winchester university, and one lecturer really got me to understand why the writing is so beloved, cleaver, and truthfully proper dirty! Shakespeare was a horn dog lemme tell ya. That lecturer was Olu, a teacher who really made me believe in what I could do, and who helped me find what kind of performer I am. Olu passed away last year, and he is sorely missed by all who knew him. I have so much I owe to that man and I think if he was still here today, he would've absolutely adored the show. For The Love Of Fantasy and Sci-fi, it's been a bloody good day!

Got Hayley Atwell's autograph on my copy of Blood of the Daleks, now I just need McGann, Nick Briggs and fingers crossed for Sheridan Smith one day 🤞

Also saw my boy the Quantum Doctor Troy, that was a bit of a surprise fr.

So many people asking for pictures. Think I've got a taste for these bigger cons. I'll see you at MCM London in October. by @rory.stock2

It's always a great pleasure to work with @joe_street937 and crew on a wonderful film project! (Crowdfunder link in my story)

I've mentioned Notes To Self a few times already, but I can't stress enough how amazing this project will be when it's done. It's a musical about creativity, passion and reigniting the creative spark we all had as children, and that society, (especially with the rise of AI) tells us to hold back.

It's a story that will speak to any artist, it resonates quite strongly for all of us right now, as ex uni students who are struggling to various degrees to make a name for themselves with their degree. Not to glaze the man but Joe's a visionary, I know this project will be something very special when it's finished and I'm proud to be a part of it, (won't spoil, but you'll know me when you see me 😂)

If you can, please support the project by following @notes_to_self_film and consider donating to the crowdfunder! I wouldn't ask you to do anything I wouldn't do myself! I know my creative friends are all out there, this film will be for all of us! by @rory.stock2

The Downhill Climb

A Winchester based pub crawl I came up with that we, attempted last night. Out of 15 pubs, in the end we did 8, (and one of them wasn't even on the list)

County Arms, St James' Tavern, The Westgate, The Exchange, (we had loads of drinks there, don't let anyone else tell you otherwise! Rotten liers!!!) O'Neil's, The Old Gaolhouse, (Spoons) Hyde Tavern and finally called it at Turtle Bay for the night.

Hopefully we can try again next year and go the distance, I just need more money and accomodation for the night!

Thank you all for coming! by @rory.stock2
