2022 was wild. I had a lot of ups and downs, but there are many things I’m proud of this year.

I was honored to be named as one of @njdotcom’s “32 N.J. bands and artists you need to hear in 2022” - an annual article I’ve been following for years. I was ecstatic to be featured in the Global Artists Spotlight segment for @rollingstonein. I also released a music video in honor of my dad for my song “Power of My Love” which was awarded music video of the year by @makinwavescolumn awards in @theaquarianweekly - two staples of the Jersey scene.

I began the year with my very first Southern Tour. I met and saw friends new and old as I went from Knoxville to New Orleans with six other unforgettable stops along the way - and even returning to Austin and San Antonio for a second time later in the year.

I continued to take the show on the road visiting LA twice performing at @thehotelcafe and @theviperroom with some great pals.

I continued my music tour in Boston, Philly twice, San Diego, Portland, and Seattle at the iconic @elcorazonseattle. I ventured across the border for my first international show in Toronto at the legendary @theelmocambo.

Back on the home front, I opened for my buddy @jarodclemons in celebration of Clarence Clemons Day at @thewonderbarofficial in Asbury and also played at the @theasburyhotel which was a blast. Up here in NYC - I took the stage at @rockwoodmusichall twice and performed at @theboweryelectric, @goldsoundsbar, and @atlanticbkln. I also had the pleasure of returning with my band to @thebitterendnyc and @mercuryloungeny twice this year - with some of the most talented musicians I know.

To round out the year, there were 33 more episodes of @thesongwritershowcase, two tattoos, and a little bit of love (looking at you @allynwamble). I’m probably a broken record, but I’m so grateful for all of the fine folks in my life and am so lucky to be on this journey. Here’s to an even better 2023! by @rorydlasnow

We had such a good time at Night 22! Thank you to everyone who played, hung out, and supported the evening.

Writers ’Round NJ will be back at Crossroads VERY soon, on Wednesday, October 7, for Night 23!

We’ve got Dippy the Lad, Amy Jay, Mike Montrey, Bruce Tunkel, Pamela Flores, and Sam Tunkel joining us for another night of original songs, stories, and good people.

As usual, each songwriter will perform three songs in the round, taking turns on stage and sharing the stories behind their songs. In addition to the curated rounds, we’ll also have one or two open rounds, depending on turnout, where folks from the audience can jump up and play a couple of songs of their own. Open round signups begin promptly at 7 PM.

Can’t believe it’s been exactly five years since this special night - getting to celebrate the release of what I still consider to be my most meaningful work, Songs From an Empty Room, at the legendary @saintapnj in Asbury Park (forever missed!). It was so much fun sharing the stage with my band and so many great folks that night, including @marcdelgiudice, @jakethistlemusic, @philrobinsonmusic, and @heyitshasson.

These songs still mean a lot to me. If you haven’t had a chance to give this record a spin, please do. More to come. ❤️

WestFest 19 Performer Feature: Rory D'Lasnow 🎸

Heralded as a "golden-voiced troubadour" and one of the "32 N.J. bands and artists you need to hear" by NJ.com, Rory D'Lasnow picked up his late father's guitar upside-down and backwards at the age of six. Despite never turning it right-side up, his introspective and emotionally honest songwriting has earned him recognition from outlets like American Songwriter, Atwood Magazine, and Rolling Stone India, and has taken him to distinguished venues across the country, including Mercury Lounge and Rockwood Music Hall in New York, Hotel Cafe and The Viper Room in Los Angeles, and The Stone Pony in his home state of New Jersey.
