Happy 37th Anniversary to the man I said for 6 years I was going to marry one day!! He didn’t even know I existed but I kept saying it, all my coworkers at the grocery store thought I was crazy!!!
Until one day ,call it fate, we were introduced by his sweet sister at my best friend’s wedding. The very next day I drove to work and told all my coworkers “I met the man I said I was going to marry, last night!” Again, they called me crazy.

Two years later I walked into the store and told them... “told y’all I would marry him one day, we’re engaged!” they all laughed and hug me , once again calling me crazy!!!

A year later , August 5th, 1989 we would have the BIG MEXICAN WEDDING, over 250 guest and according to Father Larry the largest crowd he had ever seen at the Cathedral of Guadalupe in downtown Dallas..lol what do you expect when I’m the youngest of 10 and Leon one of six kids, at the end of our catholic ceremony Father Larry whisper in our ears “I need your marriage license” we both looked at each other and said we don’t have one..... he smiled and said “ok you each have to go home separately y’all are not married!!!” Then he said, y’all have until Monday to bring up to my office.... so we did, but he didn’t tell us he had a trip to Rome to visit the Pope for a month and left on Sunday the day after our wedding.
Father Larry gets back on September 5th 1989, calls me on September 6th, 1989 and says you and Leon have one hour to get downtown because this license expires today.... we rushed to the church, he married us in the basement, had the secretary be our witness and married us on the same day we were introduced for the first time 3 years earlier!
So now I am the luckiest woman in the world because I have an amazing anniversary that I can celebrate for a whole month or any day within 30 days!!! Love you, babe! ❤️ by @rosa_fernandez65
