⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — EASY 5 STARS.

If you’ve ever read The Crucible and spent the entire time absolutely FUMING over the lies, false accusations, religious hypocrisy, and the sheer injustice of it all… Slewfoot is for you.

And listen, I’m a Libra. Nothing pisses me off more than injustice. 😂 Like Abigail??? Girl bsffr. I have never forgiven you.

Set in 17th-century New England, Slewfoot follows Abitha, a recently widowed woman who suddenly finds herself vulnerable in a Puritan community that does not appreciate a woman trying to survive independently. As she learns to run her farm on her own, she forms an unlikely friendship with Slewfoot, a mysterious woodland spirit who has awakened after years of slumber and is trying to figure out exactly what or who he is.

Together, they’re both searching for their identities. 🥹 Abitha begins finding her independence, learning magic, healing people, growing her crops and basically just trying to simply exist as a woman without some crusty Puritan man telling her what she can and cannot do.

And naturally… they accuse her of witchcraft. 🙄

The female rage. The revenge. The religious horror. The atmosphere. The satisfaction .

I read this in one sitting. I was so emotionally connected to these characters and so angry on Abitha’s behalf that by the end I was basically like, you know what??? BURN IT ALL. 🔥

And that ending?!?!?!

All I’m saying is: I support women’s rights AND women’s wrongs. 🫡

Dark, witchy, beautifully written, infuriating in the best way, and so incredibly satisfying. This is the perfect October read. 🍂🖤🌙

Do yourself a favor and read Slewfoot.

Opal girl foreverrrr 🩷✨ It’s always been my favorite stone, but being an October baby and having it as my birthstone makes me love it even more 🥹 The dreamy colors, the little flashes of pinks and blues… literally perfection.

So obviously I had to pair some opal vibes with a few book recs that match the ✨energy✨ 💎📚

QOTD: What’s your birthstone, and do you actually like it? 👀💗

Lately, THIS has been my mood. 🖤

I fell into the biggest book slump after reading Innamorata and Slewfoot back to back because apparently they decided to completely ruin me. 😭 There’s just something about the beautiful, haunting, unsettling world of gothic horror that I cannot get enough of.

And now I’m afraid other genres simply do not exist to me. Give me the eerie atmosphere, feminine rage, obsession, monsters, curses, and women making questionable decisions in creepy places. 🕯️🖤

Ahhh, the life of a mood reader. 🥲

QOTD: What genre has completely taken over your reading mood lately?

It’s October 3rd 💋😈

In honor of Mean Girls Day we’re opening the Burn Book for some fictional men who absolutely belong in here. 🚩

Manipulative? Probably.
Morally questionable? Absolutely.
Would I hear them out? Unfortunately, every single time. 😂

And because apparently I have a type, here are some of my favorite “when the villain gets the girl” reads. 🖤📚

QOTD: Who’s the fictional villain you’d defend? 💋

Happy October 3rd, besties! 💕
Get in loser, we’re making questionable fictional choices.

October is officially here 🎃📚🍂 and apparently I’m choosing fear, murder & emotional damage this month 😂

These are my October hopefuls and I’m SO ready for all the spooky/thriller vibes… with Doomsday sneaking in there to give me a tiny break from the chaos lol.

Will I read them all? We’ll see. Will I keep adding books to the list anyway? Absolutely. 🤭

QOTD:What’s on your October TBR?! 🖤
