💕@rose.and.barb at De Roos, the story behind our collaboration ✨

I am 34 years old and I was diagnosed with severe chronic pain shortly after moving to the Netherlands in 2020. I truly struggled to navigate a new diagnosis in a new health system in the Netherlands. I am British and used to the NHS system in England. I had never experienced chronic pain before and I felt completely alone and devastated.
I was barely able to walk at one point in time and I was taking oral morphine regularly throughout the day. I was extremely ill.
I then found a local health practitioner named Katelijne Zaalberg in Purmerend. She is an experienced craniosacral, and physio, therapist.

Together, over the past few years, we have worked on my condition through a combination of craniosacral therapy, physiotherapy and massage. Katelijne practices out of Gezondheidcentrum De Roos, Purmerend.

I am now able to work and study, I use less medication and I am happier and healthier than ever. My chronic pain will probably never go away completely but now I understand it and I have a chance at life that would absolutely not have been possible without the work of Katelijne.

When I started to create abstract artwork as a way to cope with my chronic pain, Katelijne suggested I put my art on display at De Roos.

Yesterday, we realised this idea and I now have 8 pieces of my original artwork on display at her facility.

I am very interested in bringing awareness to the life-changing work of craniosacral therapy and the health centre at De Roos that provides such a broad range of services to the community. I am so proud to have been given the opportunity to display my work and I hope to inspire and inform others about the reality of living with chronic pain.

💕 @rose.and.barb on display at De Roos!
Thank you to my unbelievably talented and endlessly kind craniosacral therapist, Katelijne, for giving me this opportunity. Katelijne, and the life-changing treatment that she provides at De Roos, has been an integral part of my chronic pain recovery journey. Today was a full circle moment for both of us ✨
