“Vintage = expensive” — nope, vintage just means 20+ years old. Doesn’t always mean rare or pricey (though sometimes it is).

“Costume jewelry is worthless” — a signed Trifari or Miriam Haskell piece can outsell real gold from the same era.

“No stamp = not real” — tons of gorgeous pieces from the 20s-40s were never marked. Doesn’t mean they’re not the real deal.

“You can’t wear vintage, it’s fragile” — most of it was built with actual metal and soldering. It’ll outlive the jewelry you bought last month.

“Gold-filled is basically fake gold” — gold-filled is real gold bonded to metal, built to last. Not the same as cheap plating that flakes off. taken in Birmingham, Alabama by @rosebudvtg
