I spent maternity leave trying to finish some WIPs, and I mostly succeeded… minus the fabric shopping and starting a new quilt, but that’s for another time (you may have spotted the new Lofi quilt on my stories…)

I finally finished my @rubystarsociety economy block quilt, and I’m so happy with how it turned out! It includes lots of blocks from the first couple of @shemunkee_swaps, featuring some absolute #ogcottonandsteel gems 💕

I was going to get it loaded onto the longarm with some starry backing, but instead decided to piece the back using some old RSS panels. Naturally, that turned into a whole side quest…

Another cover quilt! This time, featuring the beautiful Spruce collection by @sharonhollanddesigns for @artgalleryfabrics 🍂

Traditional basket blocks are set on point, framed by contrasting sashing. The rich colours of the Spruce collection create a cosy, autumnal palette with a festive touch, making this a quilt to enjoy throughout autumn and right through to Christmas 🎄

Do you recognise this traditional quilt block? 👀

It’s a nine-patch set on point, with flying geese around the outer border, and I originally came across it online. It was referred to as Eagle’s Nest.

I’ve been trying to find that original pattern/reference again and, for the life of me, I cannot find it anywhere! 😂

So now I need to know… is Eagle’s Nest actually the correct name, or have I been calling it the wrong thing all this time? 🙈

And while we’re here, what’s your go-to resource for identifying traditional quilt blocks? 📚 I’d love to get better at finding out the names and history behind traditional blocks!

A little floral fancy 🌸🌿 I’m so excited to finally share this quilt, designed and made with @libertyquilting beautiful Meadow Flowers collection and featured in @todaysquilter issue 144!

I loved the warm, autumnal palette of rich reds, golden yellows, teal and delicate florals 🌼

Floral Fancy is in issue 144 of Today’s Quilter, on sale in supermarkets until 22 October, or you can order a copy online

I’ve just finished binding this Double Wedding Ring quilt on my @pfaffuk Quilt Expression 725 🙌

Because of its curved edges, I made bias binding and stitched it down slowly but surely, with the help of the needle-down function and laser guide to keep that quarter-inch seam allowance as accurate as possible!

I’m tackling a few WIPs this summer, so I’m very happy to have finished this one - two years after my bee friends sent me the blocks to celebrate our wedding! 🥰

Latest quilt finish! 🌊🐙 An ocean-themed quilt for our new baby, and I’m hoping this little one grows up to love the sea… because I could really do with a swimming buddy in the family! 🦀🐚🐡

It also feels like the perfect opportunity to join the #greatbritishquilter introductions ahead of @thefestivalofquilts next week. 👋

I’m based in Oxford, but I grew up in Spain, with a short stint on Vancouver Island as a teenager - where I first learned to quilt! These days I love making colourful, scrappy quilts 🌈, and I’m lucky to have a lovely studio for longarming (and storing an ever-growing fabric collection 😅).

I’ll be at Festival on the Friday, so if you spot me, please come and say hi! I’ll be the slightly sleep-deprived one, with my husband and newborn in tow 😅

Latest quilt finish, just in time to welcome baby Lucas to our family! 💙

I picked up this quilt backing from @theclothcastle last summer during a trip around Vancouver Island, thinking it would make the perfect baby quilt one day. A few months later, I raided my stash and pulled together a scrappy crib-size quilt that came together so quickly ✨

I’m back in the studio for the summer and feeling motivated to tackle some WIPs in between newborn naps. 😴🪡

Longarm quilting for clients is on pause until September but if you need a quilt finished before Christmas, get in touch to book a date!

More festive stitching! 🎄✨

These little hexies have been very well travelled. They’ve been my portable sewing project for years, joining me on adventures across Spain, to Vancouver Island on our honeymoon, and even down the Nile on a cruise. 🧵🌍

Now it’s finally time to stop making hexie flowers and start appliquéing them into blocks for a scrappy quilt. I don’t have a firm plan yet, so I’d love to hear your ideas for layouts or settings!
