I made many mistakes adjusting the size and everything of this artwork for a book cover illustration, but this is how the end result should look like minus minor size adjustments that are beyond me and I’ll have to have another artist help me. This was both a very enjoyable commission and a painful one.

Last time I’m posting a variation of this I swear 😭
My entry for @miurp_‘s DTIYS (sorry for tagging- only the first slide)
I drew the second slide first but I wasn’t happy with it at all. I’m pretty satisfied with this version (although I cheated a little and traced the evolution pictures in the background)
My main focus for this was to depict id, ego, superego; each represented by organs, skeleton and skin in order.
About the background imagery: mainly referencing Freud and psychoanalysis again but also the character is literally a doctor. I added the evolution imagery because he was heavily inspired by Darwin. I added a little detail of drawing a heart next to the evolving brains. I also added imagery of dead flowers, fallen vase with water, hands holding onto a dead bird based on the story vibes I picked up from the artist’s account (It seems like this character had a lover who held onto them despite them being long gone)
I enjoyed drawing this, hope reading this rant and looking at this art is also enjoyable for you.

Macabre and Glam
I’ve decided to start using this instagram again. Here’s a reintroduction of myself with my most recent illustration + explaining why I left instagram.
I’m (soon to be) 23, currently studying psychology, Iranian, always have been interested in dark artworks and gothic themes. You’re welcomed to stay if you enjoy such themes.
I left instagram because I was a lot younger back then and had great anxiety of losing followers and friends, also I had important exams coming up at the time, but when they finished coming back to instagram was too anxiety inducing till it felt even embarrassing or shameful to come back after a while.
Why I’ve come back? 1. Safe to say I have better ways of dealing with anxiety now lol. 2. Art is my way of communicating, I want others to see and interpret my art. I want to be seen. 3. Okay, I wouldn’t be completely honest if I didn’t say I’ve been wanting to post on as many social media as I can (except twitter) to take commissions. But it’s for a good reason. Taking commissions is my only way of commissioning other artists. #illustration #macabre #macabreartist by @rosellete_0
