Rose Up had the honor of putting on “The Four Seasons” for @westsideynyc YMCA’s early childcare. We are super grateful for the opportunity to showcase our talent to the adorable 3-5 year olds and hope to come back in the future, as well as travel to other youth education programs!!! 🌹↗️❤️

MY ART IS MY REVOLUTION

I made this choreo in a week where society was taking a big toll on me. Feeling helpless under an office infested by cruelty, greed, deceit and pedophilia. As an artist and a movement host, I put my emotions into this piece, and created a safe space for others to share how they feel.

Let this be a sign to KEEP FIGHTING THEM WITH YOUR PASSION!!!
A CREATIVE SOUL CANNOT BE BROKEN🌹❤️🙏🏾

MY LIST OF BRING BACKS FOR DANCE TEACHERS in 2026⬇️⬇️⬇️

🌹Across the floor: Not sure when or why we abandoned this but across the floor is a NECESSITY. Dancers need to learn how to make stationary movements travel. How else are you going to get from one formation to the next?

🌹Tips based on observation: Teachers have been shying away from actually teaching. Your job is to observe what’s happening in the room and put in the effort to help others understand movement. Ask yourself— Do you want to be A TEACHER or A CHOREOGRAPHER?

🌹Using dance vocabulary:
The names of moves mean something!! It all adds to the history and education behind your dance style. Do your part on creating the next generation of knowledgeable dancers and more importantly the next teachers. If we aren’t teaching dance vocabulary, WHO WILL?

🌹Creating an open space: Teachers you set the tone of your room… find value in that. Think about what you want others to feel while they’re training with you. I personally like a professional setting that is attentive to detail and cares about the essence of the dance genre, but also leaves space for each dancers’ personality to shine. Think about what classes/teachers you felt the most fulfilled training with? What did they do to leave a lasting impression on you and what impression would you want to leave on your students?

Let’s open up this conversation 🤔Comment some of your “Bring Backs” down below!
