one of my most experimental songs to date. There wasn’t any actual use of a DAW in this case, but instead entirely the software Forester by Leafcuttef John Forester. This is the result of manipulating the nodes and carefully arranging points along various axes and letting the music grow on its own, like a living breathing thing by @rosew1ther

Thank you all again who came to show on 2/8. We managed to raise all the funds needed for the trans woman's housing costs and then some, and that was on a night where turnout should've been hardly anything given it started at 10pm on a Sunday.

I especially want to thank all of the performers for being willing to take part. Y'all are entirely responsible for the turnout and it made all of the difference

@divinityschooldarling @mother3k @daisy.hex @luziafuchsia I owe it to y'all big time

I also want to thank @gretchenfindell and @purityolympics for helping me with the ambient room. It's honestly the most fun I've had performing and it was truly so fun to throw whatever material we could think of at each other to try to play with.

And an especially huge thank you to @new_world.mpls and @dr.distance for running sound and allowing us to use the space. I'm eternally grateful for a space like New World existing and Minneapolis is better for it.

And lastly, thank you to @deep_rift_dweller for the amazing photos. Her photos always have an amazing texture and mood to them that I'll never get sick of. by @rosew1ther

I’ve got a show coming on the 10th in support of @taylorschultzmusic latest album. I personally will be opening up with a lot of live resampling, exploring, and granulizing of songs you might already recognize—yet mangled into oblivion.

I need to use ppooll more often. It’s a bit rough around the edges but it is still by and far one of the best ways to get incredible improvisational textures.

moth eaten

Originally for the @imagomeri 08 compilation, with a focus on music to help you sleep. I had stumbled onto old recordings of some piano a friend did a few years ago. The memories were hazy, almost forgotten entirely. I was in such a different point in my life that it all seems but a fleeting dream.

moth eaten is exactly that—music that sounds like it is being forgotten. music that is being eaten alive by the creatures that come out at dusk in order to bring forth the night.

Hi. Those whom are close and know me intimately
already know this facet of my life, but for those
that do not; I suffer from insomnia. I have for a
long time, and as far as I know will continue to do
so for a long while still. I like to think it
reflects in the music I put out as rosewither.
Music that focuses on the stillness, the lackthereof,
and taking the moments between themselves and stretching
themselves to infinity.

Most recently I suffered from an insomniac episode a
few days ago. No matter how much I wanted,
how much my body begged, and honestly cried,
I could not sleep. When this happens, my memories of
the day basically become obsolete. They’re mere flickers,
as I completely lack the ability to reconcile with
the day at hand. These two tracks were admittedly
born out of frustration. But in spite of myself,
over the past few days I’ve grown to become fond of them.
They focus in on a silence that you can only hear at 3:15am,
once the rest of the world goes silent.

These two songs are meant to be in headphones. Music that hopefully,
lends you a hand in aiding you to sleep. See you in your dreams :)

croatian sea organ

this one was made for the recent @imagomeri resample challenge. We were only allowed to use the original sample, nothing more, to make everything.

What came of mine was a track inspired by a lot of earlier movements of glitch—taking tiny pieces and warping them into new contexts to form new ideas

It was also the fastest thing I’ve put together. All in all this was made within a single day and was a real output of pure flow state.

“i wish i was born a girl”

I was lying in bed when i first heard the poem from @froufrousam and it moved me to tears. A lot of what i and many other dolls/trans women struggle with is this desire to be seen as indifferent to the cis women around us. To hear someone say the things my brain struggles with reconciling with felt like a warm hug.

She was gracious enough to let me remix the poem. What accompanies it is a solemn, soft deep drone with some field recordings I have taken of events centering trans people. Endlessly grateful to her.

We live in a time where we as trans people are having a genocide waged against us. Just the other day the trump administration had decided that if any hospital were to treat a trans individual that they would lose all funding. Our cis allies don’t speak up nearly enough on our behalf and think “well im not personally doing these actions” is enough to clear their conscience.

To my fellow dolls, things will get better, because they have to. I love you all
