POSTS STORIES REELS

Tomorrow marks a year that I was diagnosed with breast cancer and on this day last year I was absolutely besides myself, frantic with worry that they were going to tell me I had cancer and thinking the worse that I was going to die. A year on, I’ve had 3 surgeries, 5 months of chemo, too many hospital appointments, scans and blood tests to even count but I’m through the other side, my hair is growing back and my scars are healing.

I feel traumatised by the whole thing to be honest and mentally it’s going to be a challenge to move on but I’m sure I’ll get there.

These images show text from my Instagram posts I’ve shared and also a note that I wrote the kids the day I was diagnosed. Ive not shared these photos before because they’re quite personal but I think it’s important for me to keep spreading awareness and the reality of having cancer.

Thank you to all my amazing friends and family and the wonderful nhs staff that have got me through this tough year 🤍

One year ago today I had my double mastectomy. The lead up to that day and the weeks that followed after were the lowest I have ever felt. I already felt miles from my old self, I was still weak from chemo and had no hair. I spent two weeks away from my kids which was so hard, it broke my heart. I was sat in my own thoughts, feeling very sore and very very sorry for myself. But now a year on, old me is coming back. I’ve had my reconstruction surgery now too and I am forever grateful to my amazing surgeon.

I’m sharing this in hope that it will make someone reading this less scared, if they are about to have surgery or to anyone recovering from surgery- you will get your confidence back and you’ll be able to lift your arms in the air and dance again 🤍

October was busy 🧡

Breast cancer awareness month, the launch of Series 3 of @everythingchangedpodcast, I was a guest speaker on 3 panels, which I am so grateful for the opportunities. I was also a guest on a podcast, had a campaign launch, a lovely holiday, half term, halloween and everything in between! Now I’m ready to hibernate for winter 🫶🏽 by @rosie_fawehimi

We’ve swapped our paper calendar for @myskylight and honestly, GAME CHANGER! 🙌🏼

With busy work schedules, different schools, hobbies, football, events, having everything in one place has made family life so much easier. Everyone has their own colour, I can update it from my phone, and the kids love ticking off their chores!

The perfect gift for any busy family (or anyone who needs a little help getting organised like me)

1 year in the menopause and I can honestly say it’s not been anywhere near as bad as I feared 🫶🏽

Marrakech with kids: where we stayed & what we did 🇲🇦🤎

A little guide to our 3 night family trip to Marrakech. This place really does have the best of both worlds… the chaos and colour of the Medina, beautiful restaurants and the calm, luxury of a gorgeous hotel.

📍 STAY: @essaadimarrakech Palace

We stayed at the most beautiful hotel. Our room was huge, the pool is heated, and there is a kids club and playground right next to the pool, which made it perfect for the children. The food was lovely, and the spa is STUNNING. I had one of the most relaxing massages ever! It’s also just an 8-minute taxi ride from the hustle and bustle of the Medina.

📍 EAT: @nomadmarrakech

A modern Moroccan restaurant on a rooftop in the heart of the Medina. Perfect for sunset, with incredible views. The kids genuinely thought we’d stepped into Aladdin ✨

📍 EAT: @lesjardinsdulotus

The most beautiful restaurant tucked away down a little dirt track. Amazing food, delicious cocktails and such a fun atmosphere as the evening goes on. Live music starts at 9pm, so it’s worth staying a little later!

📍 EAT: @nobumarrakech

My personal favourite. The rooftop is amazing with views over Kutubiyya Mosque. Such a vibe, with live dancers, incredible food and cocktails.

📍 SHOP: @elfennmarrakech

Soooo cool. I loved every single thing! We couldn’t get a reservation for the restaurant though, so make sure you book ahead if you want to eat there.

📍 EXPLORE: The souks

Crazy and chaotic but fun to mooch and full of colour! Just make sure you keep the kids close, as motorbikes weave through the narrow streets when you least expect them.

At just a 3.5-hour flight from London, with only a 1 hour time difference, Marrakech is such an easy family getaway. A destination that feels like a proper adventure for the kids. There’s so many more places I want to try, I already can’t wait to go back 🤎

Our first night in magical Marrakesh ✨

A 6 minute walk to our restaurant took 45 minutes because we got lost in the souk but we made it in time for sunset 🧡 by @rosie_fawehimi

Having had four breast surgeries, including a lumpectomy, double mastectomy and reconstruction, I know first hand how important it is to find a bra that makes you feel comfortable and confident, throughout recovery and beyond.

I’ve found that @marksandspencer offers such a great range of options, from practical post-surgery bras, to beautiful lace styles that have become my everyday staple, even 18 months on from my reconstruction.

This year also marks 25 years of partnership between M&S and Breast Cancer Now, supporting life-changing breast cancer research. And personally, I think that’s incredible.

At the beginning of my own journey, I turned to the Breast Cancer Now website so many times, to help me understand all the new information I was suddenly having to navigate.

Breast cancer changes so much, but having access to the right support, information and products really does help 🤍
