THE NAKED TRUTH
It’s hard to walk in one’s shoes or to know & understand the reality behind their strength.

The truth is, we never know what anyone is actually going through or has been through.

People look at me, & they see a courageous woman who does crazy adventures & puts herself in questionable situations. Someone who openly expresses her emotions (which are plenty) & not afraid to be herself.

Right from the start I’ve been transparent about my journey & have chosen to share the highs AND the lows so that it could gift others HOPE.

My path has not been easy.

Some people question, why do you cry ? Well, if they could make a movie on my life, people would not even believe what I’ve been through.

Life has beautifully gifted me the opportunity to go deeper. To challenge myself to the core in EVERY way, to walk straight into my fear & say BRING IT, to be in AWE of the magnificence of everything & everyone around me, to feel EVERYTHING, to live courageously & vulnerably so that despite what I am going through or feeling, I NEVER give up, & to always live from my ❤️

Whether they are tears of joy, gratitude, love, fear, pain or loneliness, every drop has its purpose and they are nothing to be afraid of. Emotions are the motions of the soul.

For those who don’t know, aside from living with chronic Lymes disease for 20 yrs, I was born with a congenital vascular disease (still undiagnosed) basically my arteries were disintegrating & I lost function to my primary organs.

I was dying.

I’ve had 10 major surgeries (starting from age 5) most of my main arteries bypassed, a kidney removed, partial removal of my intestines two years ago in an emergency surgery in Sri Lanka & too many medical mishaps and traumas to count.

And I’m still here to tell you….

LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST, no matter what you are going through, no matter what people say.

We are far more capable than we know. I am proof of that.

Life is BEAUTIFUL, it can also be HARD.

Let it be messy, fall down, get back up and be the HERO in your own story.

🩻 this is an actual scan of my body. Any medical doctors will have a blast with this one.
Now you have all seen me naked 😜😅 by @rosiegabrielle

I can’t believe he did that ! 🥹😭❤️

We were out shooting the other day for my latest project and happened to catch the most beautiful moment on camera 😍

I was taken off guard when one of the street sellers flagged me down as I was in the middle of making a U-turn. He was pleading for a selfie. He had the biggest smile on his face and was full of enthusiasm.

We continued with the flow of traffic but had to re-route and take another U-turn around due to traffic. I wasn’t sure if I would see the same guy, but I kept a look out.

To my surprise he was waiting at the side of the road happily waving me down.

I get asked for selfies everyday…. It’s nothing special…. But this felt different.

He had a slight limp and was carrying a big bag. In a hurry, he scampered towards me.

Abdullah Wahab he introduced himself as, and excitably took out his phone for a picture.

As I looked closely at the screen, I noticed he used a special filter, with a sign that said “happy international Women’s day”. My heart immediately melted.

I gave him my card, he was so thrilled. He asked, “how are you”, and left a lasting gift in my heart.

This right here, was the most precious moment.

I hope you all felt it 🤍

TRIP OF A LIFETIME

It has been three long years since I’ve gone off on a solo motorcycle adventure. A part of me wasn’t ready for this, but a bigger part of me knew this is EXACTLY what I needed.

When I agreed to go, I saw the distance of this tiny island and thought, this will be EASY!

Like most ROSIE adventures, I really didn’t know what I was doing. I was just open to any and all experiences that would come my way.

Little did I know this motorcycle journey would rock my world and turn me inside out.

Only to reveal once more, everything I was looking for.

As most of you know, my journeys are not just adventurous travels around the globe, but a deep path that leads to my core.

And this island trip was no exception.

Faced with earthquakes, logistical nightmares, extreme weather, severe dehydration, faulty equipment, language barriers, health problems and finishing off with a typhoon 🎉

I was on a “real” adventure to say the least. 🤪

As challenging as it was though, I was blessed to experience so much beauty. As you will see in the content to come, this country is flourishing with natural wonder, kind people and rich culture.

In less than one month I completed 2,293 km traversing across more twisties than I’ve ever ridden in my life. From north all the way to the southern tip and back around, I can easily say that Taiwan is heaven for any rider.

But at the same time, I had every comfort and familiarity ripped from me so all I had left was my faith and strength within myself to get through.

Each person and experience along the way guiding my journey.

“What was my purpose there?” I often asked.

I don’t know.

But I do know that, always follow your dreams.

Having the courage to take the steps we always wanted to take is the only way of showing that we TRUST in God.

We don’t look for a purpose, we accept, and then life becomes much more intense, more brilliant, because we understand that each minute, every step we take, has a meaning that goes far beyond us as individuals.

Surrendering ourselves to each moment, knowing there is always a hand to guide us, and whether we accept it or not is entirely up to us.

My first week in Morocco… what a WILD one 🇲🇦

I was invited by @gopro to attend their Creator Summit and test out the new MISSION1 Pro action camera.

I found myself surrounded by some of the top creators in the industry , who also happened to be some of the most humble, and talented people I’ve met. Truly grateful to have been part of it!

And had an extra special time with my moto partner in crime @jhhjulie 🤩

But honestly… I was completely out of my comfort zone.

Coming back into the creator world full speed brought up a lot of doubt in myself and my abilities. At times, I felt a really out of my league.

But this experience reminded me again and again how important it is to trust the process, let go of perfection, and just be okay with simply being me.

At the end of the day, capturing real moments, emotions, and stories is where I shine.

Having a cinema-quality camera that fits in the palm of my hand, a do-it-all powerhouse - It makes the process feel a whole lot more natural.
This is GoPro's next gen camera that keeps it professional-grade in any environment.
Loving the new #gopromission1 Pro !

Thanks to @traceofmorocco for lending me a bike 🏍️

Excited to share more from this journey- the adventure has just begun!

One thing’s for sure… the new @GoPro Mission 1 Pro passed the test !

This camera is in a league of its own!
cinematic quality in the palm of your hand that anyone can use. It’s the only 8K 60 fps camera with a 1" sensor.

I’m still blown away by the low-light performance and slow motion capabilities - this video was shot at 4 K 200 FPS (ad)

Had way too much fun capturing this little adventure-filled moment here in Morocco with the adrenaline Queen herself @giuliacalcaterra 🫶🏼 who I had the pleasure of taking out for a little thrill ride. Her reactions were my favourite part 😆

Would you trust my driving ? 😜

Welcome to MOROCCO 🇲🇦

So many of you guessed right! Although it’s not my first time here- I had the pleasure of visiting 10 years ago- but this time is different 😉

I’ve got some exciting things awaiting me!

Any of my Followers from Morocco 🇲🇦? Would love to hear from you ❤️

Any guesses where I’m going? ✈️🌍

Wow- I can’t believe it has been 3 years since my last big overseas trip! I’m feeling like a rookie to say the least 😬😅

From a long hibernation straight into adventure!
I sure like to put some hot water under my butt to get fired up- but that’s always been the Rosie way, and somehow- it works!

To be very honest, It’s been quite the stressful week(s) preparing for this-and packing has never been my favourite. But I’m giving it my best and showing up- albeit, I’m still sh#%ing my pants 🤪

You’d think as a seasoned traveller I’d have it all down pat- but I feel like a beginner starting from scratch

There’s something about airports and flying that really unnerve me- It might have something to do with the enormous amount of luggage I carry- it kind of comes with the job 🥴

But all was well during the flight- I always take a window seat and watch endlessly at the beautiful sights. I’ve seen some of the most epic sunrises/sets from above- that leave me in total awe.

Anyone else travel with a full sized bed pillow? 🙋🏼‍♀️😅 life hack! take a squishy one and put it in a compression sack- the whole plane will be jealous. You’re welcome 😉

And of course- my little Winston bear always travels with me 🐶 I’m going to miss those two 🥹

I’ve said goodbye to Canada for now- and on to new horizons and big adventures !

I’m Excited for what’s next ! And have some big news to share so stay tuned !

Who’s coming with me ? 🙌🏼

Coming back to what I love ❤️

Nothing like sunshine, two wheels & my favourite little buddy to bring out the best in me 😎

All Canadians know- that contrast of coming out of a long cold winter and feeling those first signs of spring and the sunshine again. Everyone and their dogs be comin alive 😜

For me especially- finding my joy and creativity again means the world to me, and I’m so happy to be back!

Doing what I love, what I do best - and getting to share that with my boy. You can see why they call him @winston.sir.chill

He’s been riding with me nearly since day one!
After 14 years, he still loves a good adventure with Mum- it keeps us both young 😉

Getting to capture these precious memories so I can treasure them fur-ever, is the best 🥹

I’m not what happened to me….

This last six months was extremely difficult for me. I guess I never realized how deeply burnout could affect my body and mind- I thought I was invincible.

But turns out - I’m not.

I lost the one thing that always kept me going- My passion, my Essence - my creativity. And that hit me harder than anything.

Winters in Canada are long, dark and cold. Which meant no riding, no escape and no control.

So I let it be. But what I thought was rest, was actually stagnancy.

I’ve always thrived with movement- it gives me peace and clarity. But the four walls I caged myself into- stole my hope, and my sanity.

During that time, I felt I lost everything.

And in a way, I did - I was completely empty.

But that gave me the space to breathe and just be- my messy, imperfect self. I had to learn to love and take care of me.

Just like the seasons come and go, we too are meant to grow- and it was finally time, for me to let go.

Of all the pain, the past and undoing. To rise again, to a new beginning.

My spark is coming back, I’m finding joy again! but most important- my precious creative side.

The biggest lesson I learnt from losing my identity……

I’m not the wound, I’m not the fall
Not the silence, not the wall
I’m not the night they couldn’t see
I’m the best me, rising free
I’m not what happened to me
I AM what I choose to be

Even I didn’t expect to be gone this long 🥺……

This was the life I had before things took a drastic change. On the outside everything looked fine- but honestly, I wasn’t okay.

I’ve always been one who just pushes through- until my body finally said, no more.

And for the first time ever….. I actually stopped.

I settled in for a long winter hibernation, which felt like an eternity. But I needed this time more than I thought.

Time to fall apart
Time to Feel everything I had been avoiding.
Time to reflect and to reconnect- to my real Self.

Beneath everything I thought I was and built myself up to be- there was something really important I was missing- Me.

Coming back to this online space- feels scary!
The world has changed so much, and so have I.

I thought I would be “ready”, I waited for the perfect time- when everything would just feel “right”

But there’s never a perfect time, and just like going off on an adventure- I don’t think you can ever prepare enough for what’s out there, or feel ready enough. You just gotta do it- and the magic happens through taking action as the journey continues to unfold along the way.

So here’s me showing up- not as my best self, just as Me. The perfectly imperfect Rosie who has always been a little afraid to be seen.

I’m here, and I have a lot to share ❤️

I got myself into a sticky situation 🫠💩

I can definitely tell you, what NOT to do- but I’ll save that for the YouTube video 😜

No doubt I’ve pushed both the limits of my bike and my body this year, and this moment was kind of the breaking point for both.

I used to pride myself in my strength and ability to get through tough times. My tenacious resilience that has kept me pushing over the years and never gave up.

But the body cannot fight on fumes for long- continuing to rev when you are stuck will eventually lead to burnout or even worse…..

Life has been increasingly giving me these signs to slow down, and I didn’t listen 🙁 I tried to find the balance, but the more I continued, the more bogged down I got.

Until life made me STOP

My bike was broken, and my body was facing serious health risks that were giving me no choice but to pause, start digging myself out of the hole I created, and start forging a new path.

It wasn’t a break, rather a chance to give myself permission to unravel and be really honest with where I’m at and what the path forward looks like.

Sometimes life derails you sending you on detours or into potholes- it’s the perfect storm that catches you off guard but seemingly in good time.

If it’s one thing I believe in wholeheartedly- it’s that everything is happening FOR us and FROM us. I NEEDED to take a break- so the universe made it happen 🙌🏼

What have I learned- A LOT! But I’ll be saving that for all the content I’ll be catching up on.

And, I am super curious what unique tips you all have for getting out of mud 😂

Stay tuned for more Rosie Adventures ✨
