From hand building with clay to forming cast brass sculptures, a glimpse into the process of designing and fabricating Arup’s WS2 Boorloo Major Entry Artwork “Doonch Doonch” by @rosienamara

An award winning workplace designed with purpose, connection, and culture.

Arup Boorloo WS2

Working alongside Arup and Hames Sharley from concept architecture design, the Peter Farmer Team embedded Noongar perspectives throughout the workplace, creating a space that honours Country, celebrates culture, and supports belonging.

Grounded in regenerative design and the Living Building Challenge, the project brings together sustainability, community, and meaningful cultural storytelling to create a workplace where people can connect, collaborate, and thrive.

The Aurecon Boorloo office fit-out is a 3,100 sqm refurbishment project in collaboration with Woods Bagot and Renascent transforming the existing space into a modern, sustainable, and culturally sensitive environment.

The design incorporates Indigenous artworks seamlessly integrated into the architecture in collaboration with our team, Peter Farmer Team, Aurecon Group and Woods Bagot.

This design highlights the importance of the Derbyl Yerrigen (the Swan River) which is located next to the Aurecon Boorloo office. The artwork river lies overhead the lobby, allowing visitors and staff to connect to this land feature. The programmable light depicting the colour way of the Creator Spirit, the Maajit, the Rainbow Serpent. The welcoming wall behind depicts the Noongar symbol of people and each individual’s journey returning back to the newly designed office. The stairwell is repurposed with Peter Farmer Junior’s contemporary Biddi linework. Thierra Clanton Coolamon artwork’s are hung throughout the space. Thierra ran workshops with female members of Aurecon to collaborate on the clay Coolamon artworks. by @rosienamara

Six Seasons. Six gum leaves.

Located at the Baldivis Sporting Complex, this entry statement artwork is commissioned by the City of Rockingham. Six eucalyptus leaves bent from aluminum plate form a seed-like opening, symbolising regeneration and new life.

Each leaf represents a Noongar season, engraved with Peter Farmer’s seasonal artworks and Noongar language. The eucalyptus tree holds deep medicinal significance for Noongar people, used for healing and immunity.

The lighting is programmable, shifting with seasonal colours or celebrating sporting moments at the complex.
