Penny just turned 6 and she recently lost her first two teeth but thankfully the tooth fairy let me keep them so I can string them together into a necklace that I’ll wear until the day I die like a real psycho. As with every passing year I realize how unprepared I am, no one told me teenage years start in kindergarten, such sass, real opinionated, too smart, I’m exhausted. But then they fall asleep each night and they are so well behaved and QUIET so I tiptoe in and press my face against hers and listen to her breathing and it’s so fun - just look how peaceful and deceiving it is. Here’s to Penny, Happy Birthday, I vow to kiss you on every inch of your face every morning forever and hopefully you’ll stop being disgusted by it someday very soon. by @ross.wav

Today we submitted Penny’s application for NYC Public Schools, and it feels like time is going by way too fast. But my hope is that she will enter school for the first time just as she’s pictured here: confident, direct, unflinching, and with a little tiny sense of humor. It has been a busy and fulfilling four months for @shelleymmyoung and me.Eros was born on March 21, and he made our family complete. We sold the first home we’ve ever owned, moved out, and spent a month getting to know and love a new neighborhood in Bed Stuy. We took a break at the beach: surfing, swimming, and grilling for June and July in the Rockaways. I left Bowery Farming after five great years there. I kicked off a sales consulting business with the best partners on the planet and launched my first client; a brand new product in the world. And finally we landed back in Bed Stuy (forever), where we purchased our new home.These days I try to be present in each moment (most moments 📱). I am conscious of our good fortune and embrace the felicity in our lives, but I am proud of the achievements we’ve made and the hard work that brought them. Daily, I am thankful I have the privilege to live this life. To more love and more life ❤️ by @ross.wav
