1 x day into 10 years old and I had the privilege of watching Zack have one of the coolest moments of his life. A lot of days are hard. This game was hard.
Final game of a 4-game travel tournament. He was emotionally and physically exhausted.
After busting his butt the first 3 games, he struggled throughout this final one- it was hard to watch as he is usually able to self motivate and overcome these hard on the field moments. We try to teach our kids that every new moment is a new opportunity to start fresh and be great - that no matter what just happened; you have to make the next right move. It was 3-3 in OT penalty kicks, and this was the final shot to win or go home. He stepped up, didn’t waiver, and drilled his best kick of the year for the overtime pk winner. A kick I’ve watched him practice hundreds of times in the backyard. Frustrated, angry, hard on himself. But kid keeps at it. It’s easy to forget the hard work these kids put in and man this kid puts in the work. Also easy to let the hard moments outweigh the good ones…. So im gonna hold on to this one for a minute. This was a good one. Proud. by @rosshopman

Been practicing my judgiest looks all week. I’m ready

‘When No One’s Watching’ out everywhere u do music. Thank u so much for the support so far. Love you. by @rosshopman

today is a big day in my personal life. the album that ive been working on- on and off over the last two years- is live. its a pretty devastatingly honest window into my everyday psyche during an incredibly difficult stretch of my life.
and I am so freaking proud of the end result. and so excited to share it and put it out into the universe. proud, and scared, and excited and nervous and 100 more emotions.

i know one thing. while I wrote these songs alone— there is absolutely no way it would have ever seen the light of day without the army of friends, loved ones, musicians and collaborators that helped me, pushed me, inspired me and brought them to life.

@koki_wolves who co-produced the album and played every instrument under the sun that I couldn’t - from mandolins to pedal steels to drums - and with so much care for craft, always searched for the right sounds to make sure everything felt connected and intentional. There is no album without Koki Saito.
@aaronmirman who spent hours helping produce the vocals and find the right tone and blend- which often included absolutely stunning and haunting harmonies from @blacklightsmoke and @ahest.
Laurence Wilkins with some killer trumpets
@creeksta who blew my mind with the final mix
@kevorkianmastering with the thoughtful and delicate mastering
@domdickandharry with the artwork that he put so much heart into
and omg @dana_hom literally acting like my manager, agent and pr staff - all while still helping manage an entire company and carrying a human child

i’m a lucky dude. and im super grateful that all of these beautiful humans were part of this journey with me. and i’m really excited for you to give a listen through ‘When No One’s Watching’ - Civil Brother
