Bismillah,

I genuinely cannot believe I’m saying this but I am A CANDIDATE ON THIS YEARS @apprenticeuk (season 20)!

Whaaaat?! My entire heart is racing as I type this and I cannot believe a girl like me, who grew up in Tower Hamlets, East London is going to be on national television (wild). Out of THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of applications and the toughest auditions known to man your girl only went and did it.

As the only Muslim on the show this year, I hope to make my community proud in’sha’Allah.

As someone who has religiously watched the show since I was a kid, it feels beyond surreal to say I will be on it. Putting yourself out there publicly is daunting, but this is hands down my proudest achievement to date and boy am I ready for what’s to come.

Life has tested me in ways I didn’t always understand, but who knew all of that would build towards this opportunity of a lifetime? Allah SWT wrote this for me and here I am, stepping into THE boardroom ready to fight like never before for that investment for @rothnasbakery

Mum and Dad… is it safe to say I made it? 🥹 (Only went and beat about 80,000 or so people that applied 👀)

Happy birthday to the one person who kinda means more to me than chocolate (and that’s a lot if you know me).

Truly, words will never do justice to how much you do for me. I cover his face not because I don’t want the world to see but I believe that some of the best parts of your life should be kept private and evil eye and that. You must be protected at all costs with all the weirdos out there.

Thank you for being the most giving, selfless and kindest human being. Thank you for being there every step of the way when life felt really hard. You picked me up, championed me and made me truly feel like the only girl in the world. Thank you for sacrificing your sleep, your time, your plans and your energy just so I could have things easier. Life’s been a bit tough on us lately and the last couple of years has been something but it’s okay, I work like a “dawgggg day and night” to keep you fed and safe. Hahaha I’m kidding but seriously thank you for the little things - giving me the best bite of every food dish we eat, standing on the dangerous side of the road, doing my parcels for me and waiting till I’m done baking before you eat. I could go on and on tbh.

Idk what else to say because I already feel a little sick at how cringe this is but just know, you are the best human I know. Anyway, FYI you left a sock in the washing machine yesterday.

I wore the hijab 18 years ago and modest fashion has evolved so much since then. I used to wear the same one black hijab and outfit because I was struggling with my identity in hijab. The journey to confidence took time but boy am I happy I stayed patient because I wouldn’t have it any other way. For anyone struggling in hijab, I promise it gets easier with time iA 🤍 by @rothna.a
