M390 I do believe. In the future I’ll need to ask a little more to refinish these larger Evo designs due to the amount of time invested and size. Jon’s designs are not amateur hour slop and require a lot of focus to make sure they look right. The edge on this one was gone as was the status upon arrival, so I will need to take care of that next. But overall, a nice gem of a result. by @rotten.design

Some things in this world are truly irreplaceable…

As Ive completed the semi builds now and am cycling through the regrinds and starting back up on the full custom builds, the time has come to make another in its stead. It’s not just wanted, it’s truly needed (‘need’ isn’t a word I throw around lightly) This was the main Evo, the ‘prototype’… it’s what every Evo I made was based off of… when I had a question, it’s this one I turned to for an answer.

I don’t run CNC… so, to be able to repeat something accurately, there has to be a physical model that I can turn to, there are no exceptions, not with me anyway… for this reason, it was a very important build to me.

Got a special one up for grabs today… 2.0 semi. Yes, 2.0 …I started it a long time ago and just recently got around to finishing it. I made a mistake though… the guy I made it for wanted a nightmare style grind, I put a straight hollow on it in confusion. No going back from that point. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It happens, I’m human, I messed up. Now I have to sell it. About to run a flash auction on it for anyone interested. This is the very last of the 2.0 semi builds that’ll be available from me. Exactly like the 4.0 I just posted, this one was a special request also. I do not plan on doing anymore like it, I don’t plan on doing anymore special blade materials for these semis at all… anything like that will be reserved for full custom builds only from here on out. So, if you want something different, here you go.
I’ll make a flash auction post in a few mins.

The very last of the 4.0 semi builds. This one was a special request. I do not plan on doing anymore like it, I don’t plan on doing anymore special blades for these semis at all actually… it’ll all be reserved for full custom builds from here on out. I had a couple people ask, I obliged because it piqued my interest… that’s the end of that chapter. Hope you enjoy, and I hope you all have a great week ahead!

A few of you have noticed this is what I modeled the 5.0 after… close anyway, not exact… still lots of changes to the 5.0 from here. Consider it a rough prototype though.

Something a little different… 4.0 semi with full satin nightmare style grind, heat fade frame over bark texture, polished chamfers everywhere, cupped pivot/stop pin.

‘FULL SATIN’… with a touch of bright wash on the bark. Gotta be honest here, I wasn’t really sure about this one… ‘til I put it all together anyway, now I love it! Sure, it’s a little different… in a good way though. It was a special request from the customer… and he loves it! As long as we both love it, it’s good to go in my book.

Just want to let you guys know these both have a captured pivot also (‘D’ pivot). All models will have this feature from here on… because why not?! Better is always better. Also… just so there’s no confusion, there are TWO different models available… two completely different knives…5.0 and XS… they are not the same. One is 6.3” OAL (XS) one is 8” (5.0)

The new EVO 5.0!
Thinner, sleeker, stabby, and maybe a bit more attitude… but still forged from the strong Evo roots. Coming in at the same OAL as the classic 2.0 (right under 8”) the 5.0 is going to own some pockets! 😎 It’s going to be offered in several variants, lefty too. Mike
@customknifefactory made us some killer 3D 360° interactive renderings so you guys can get a really good idea on what to expect. I’m super excited for this one! 👊🏼
