Our last meetup of the year took place at the always cozy het @wijkpaleis with a lovely workshop by @moominmasha where we all made a tile for a seamless pattern. Fatma made us a tasty dinner and we chatted and drew and chatted some more ♥️ taken in Het Wijkpaleis. De plek om het te maken. by @rotterdamillustrators

Here’s a little recap video of our Rotterdam Illustrators’ Paellada. Special thanks to master chefs @enric_adell and @studio.paulaesteve for your paella knowledge, @themoodysociety and @carmenjose_work for your prep work of chopping and sangria making.
Our “sobremesa” were two lovely workshops lead by @carmenjose_work , @tsjeejong and @kamomomomomomo
Making paella isn’t as easy as it seems. This vegetarian one tasted delicious, with the perfect rice consistency. taken in Rotterdam, Netherlands by @rotterdamillustrators

Excited to share photos by @angenietberkers of the group coaching weekend I led earlier in Rotterdam, hosted by @rotterdamillustrators.

Over two days, I led a group of artists and illustrators from across the Netherlands, on a journey Through the Trees, helping them to find their individual roadmap to getting their work out there and getting more commissions!

Big thank you to everyone who joined and for the positive feedback. Plus, a very special thank you to @rachelsenderw for inviting me and organising an amazing weekend…Rachel, you are community builder and event organiser extraordinaire!

Here’s what participants said about the weekend:

“Thank you for giving me just what my soul needed. I truly feel that I now have a roadmap for my business. I feel certain, strong and ready for this new chapter in my life! You literally helped me look ‘through the trees’ and I now know where home is.” Paz💫

“Getting it all out on paper in a structured way gave me a new overview, sharing this with like-minded creatives was amazing! Thank you for the weekend, it felt generous and supportive. Feeling confident to take next steps.” Lybrich💫

“I feel more confident in the steps I need to take. I am starting to connect the dots and to follow the path I sketched during this journey. There is still a lot to do. It is still fuzzy, but finally I’ve found direction.” Tania💫

“I really liked everything about the weekend, it made me think in a way I’ve never thought before! There were so many important insights, the questions helped organise my thoughts and I enjoyed speaking with other artists…it was nice to see that everyone needs a path and direction.” Caterina💫

“Through the exercises, I was able to nail down not only how I would describe my style, but also which clients I want to seek out and who would be a good match. Identifying the who and the why provided a lot of clarity for me, which I’m excited to move forward.” Cassady💫

Are you building a community of artists, illustrators or other creatives where you live? Then why not partner with me on a coaching weekend for your group! DM me the word ‘community’ if you’re interested.🌲🏹🌲 #artist #illustrator #community taken in Rotterdam, Netherlands by @rotterdamillustrators

Our festive get-together at @dudokrotterdam was a heartwarming celebration of connection and community. Our wall of prints by @rotterdamillustrators was a nice opportunity to gather IRL and also to feel connected to our city.

Special thanks to @yara_ruby , @ana.with.the.key , @egonderegt and @rosanne_hustinx_illustration for organizing the build up. These things always take more time than what it seems. But then it’s always worth it!

A huge thank you to @annevanderzwaag from @objectrotterdam for the encouraging pushes and for treating us to drinks and snacks! 🥂
And to @dudokrotterdam for making our gathering feel like a special treat. Here’s to more collective initiatives! Together, we are stronger! 💛 taken in Dudok Rotterdam by @rotterdamillustrators
