Loubieh bil zeit is one of those simple Levantine dishes that always tastes like home. 🫒🍅

The green beans came straight from my garden—I grew and picked them myself and made loubieh bil zeit before summer ended. 🌱

I cooked them with tomatoes, olive oil, a little water, garlic, and salt. Some people also add onion, but I didn’t use any in this recipe. Best enjoyed with fresh pita bread! 🤌🏼

اللوبيا بالزيت من الأكلات الشامية البسيطة اللي طعمتها دايمًا بتذكّرنا بالبيت. 🫒🍅

واللوبيا من حديقتي، زرعتها وقطفتها بإيدي، ولحقت أعمل منها لوبيا بالزيت قبل ما يخلّص الصيف. 🌱

طبختها مع البندورة، زيت الزيتون، شوي مي، ثوم وملح. في ناس بيضيفوا بصل كمان، بس أنا بهالوصفة ما حطّيت. وأطيب شي تنأكل مع خبز عربي تازة! 🤌🏼

Loaded Carne Asada Sweet Potato Fries 🥩🍠🔥

The secret to juicy, flavorful carne asada? It’s ALL in the marinade! 🤫🍋‍🟩

I used fresh lime straight from my garden, and trust me, the combination of citrus, spices, and a little secret ingredient makes such a difference!

🥩 For the Carne Asada Marinade:

* Boneless beef chuck steak (from Costco)
* Juice of 1 whole lime 🍋‍🟩
* Juice of 1 whole orange 🍊
* ¼ cup soy sauce
* Olive oil
* Salt, to taste
* Ground cumin
* A small pinch of baking soda (my other secret ingredient! 🤫)

🍠 For the Loaded Fries:

* Sweet potato fries
* 1 red onion, sliced
* Shredded mozzarella cheese
* Guacamole
* Fresh arugula
* chimichurri sauce
* A little oil for cooking

👩🏻‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Marinate the steak: Combine lime juice, orange juice, soy sauce, olive oil, salt, cumin, and a small pinch of baking soda. Coat the steak well and refrigerate for 4 hours.
2. Cook the steak: Heat a little oil in a skillet and sauté the sliced red onion. Add the marinated steak and cook until browned and cooked to your liking.
3. Prepare the fries: Cook your sweet potato fries until golden and crispy.
4. Load them up: Arrange the fries on a serving plate, sprinkle with mozzarella, and melt the cheese.
5. Add the toppings: Layer the cooked carne asada and red onions over the fries. Finish with guacamole, fresh arugula, and a generous drizzle of chipotle sauce.

And that’s it! Crispy, cheesy, juicy, and packed with flavor. 🤤🔥

This ahi tuna salad is one of my favorite ways to make a quick, high-protein meal! 🥗🐟

I got my ahi tuna from @boxedhalal 💚

Here’s how I made it:

1. Season the ahi tuna with soy sauce, sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, and a little salt.
2. Sear in a hot pan until cooked to your liking. I prefer mine a little more cooked, but you can sear it for less time if you like it pink inside.
3. Serve over fresh arugula and top with mayo and black sesame seeds.

Fall is almost here… which means it’s officially Syrian kishk season 🍂🤎

One of the coziest Syrian comfort foods and so easy to make.

1 onion + garlic sautéed in olive oil
1 cup kishk + 2 cups water
Simmer until creamy, then top with olive oil, crispy bread, and dried mint 🤍

Kishk is traditionally made with fermented yogurt and bulgur, so it can be a nice source of protein, calcium, and grains — plus it’s warm, filling, and perfect for cooler days.

من أطيب وأدفى الأكلات السورية، وطريقته كتير سهلة.

منقلي بصلة مفرومة مع الثوم بزيت الزيتون،

Caramelized figs, creamy burrata, and crispy sourdough… such a simple combination, but so good. 🤍✨

Cut the figs in half and sauté them in a little butter 🧈 until soft and caramelized. Let them cool slightly, then toast sourdough in the same pan on both sides until golden. 🍞

Spread burrata over the toast, add the caramelized figs, and enjoy. 🤍

Optional: add honey 🍯, pecans, or walnuts on top. I kept mine simple. ✨

This time I turned all those summer tomatoes into homemade tomato sauce to stock up for winter 🍅✨ There’s something so satisfying about preserving summer flavors and having them ready for the colder months.

If you want to make tomato paste instead, remove all the peels and seeds, then let the tomatoes cook down longer until they become nice and thick.
