Rough Riders took part in the Nassau County Football Showcase-over 200 players from all around Long Island and as far away as Texas participated-close to 35 coaches from all levels-D1,D2,D3, Jr College and Sprint evaluated the players for recruiting-special thanks to Orlin and Cohen, the Nassau County HS Football Coaches Association, and John Campolettano from LI Blitz for making this event a tremendous success! by @rough_riders20

Black History Month-from Coach Don Crummel- it was the year 1999 when the New York State takeover was in full effect. Except the takeover brought more division and conflict and still again students came to school looking for a reason why? Where other schools had pride for their school district Roosevelt, students were confused about why we were in the media all the time with negativity. The 1999 Roosevelt football team had a dream season and got the students through a very tough time. We Salute The Roosevelt 1999 football team. When you look at the Roosevelt facilities now, we are so much in a better place with our turf fields,
All-weather track none of that was available then. You had coaches purchasing equipment and making best of what they had, but more important was that Roosevelt spirit came back alive with a brilliant season Conference champions, Nassau County champions, Long Island Champions, Jerone Pettus (Thorp award best player in Nassau), Rutgers Cup (Nassau Best football team
