my fair isle sweater!

took me 2.5 months but finally finished it. chose the colors and designed the patterns myself, all hand-knit with wool. enjoy a few photos of the process!

besides its complexity, i’m most proud of the new knitting technique i employed (created?) to eliminate the pesky jog in stranded knitting in the round.

in stranded knitting, the “jog” is the place where one round ends and another begins, creating an unsightly hiccup in the pattern and hundreds of strands to weave in (the bane of any knitter’s existence) at all the color changes. by adding a few steek stitches on either side of the jog i was able to create a clean seam that sews down flat and gets rid of any pattern interruption! (that’s what photos 6 and 7 are demonstrating.)

if you’re interested in learning more about this technique let me know!

thanks to @knit_picks for having such a wide collection of palette yarn colors.
