@oldmutualwealthdc Race Recap

What started as a cool morning in Swellendam, quickly turned moist (especially for those on @mikejohncannon wheel) whose race lasted about as long at @travmaverickjohnston cool temperament.

Soon the calls of 'bomb squad' and '10 second rolls' came belting out the captains mouth. Enough to create some long lasting PTSD. As we summitted tradouw, there were 10 men left (2 coastal boys down 🤯) perhaps the word on the insta streets was accurate.

Normality was restored briefly, however when we hit Op Tradouw, some witnessed physically abusive behaviour, as the new recruit, @mattytrautman grabbed the vegan kale sammie @gregoryblack1 & violently pulled up the climb.

9 men rolled into T1, as we lost @dylanjennings23 when his chain got jammed into his frame, unlike some other triathletes,Dyl fixed it & soldiered on.

T1 -The team was feeling good, Inland boys hit Maurten, Coastal boys sipped kombucha @mattytrautman = Red Bull.

A steady roll in the cross winds from T1 to T2 saw us exchange some blows with @laperlaclassic . The chat in the peltons was @rob_pearse smooth pedal stroke and @dylanvz_tri miss match tyres.

T2 was not as civilized, with @gavin_mof chronic nose bleed, and ever strong @bradleyfleming1 only now quietly whispering 'gooi millies pappa' whilst @mike_frantzeskou unzipped his top to proudly show his Greek heritage.

The final 40km saw us lose @g_krisch who was in the running for man on the match, unfortunately he ran low on factor 50. As we rolled up to @teampuresavage the banter began, we enjoyed observing them attack each other, and eventually self destruct.

As the quad doctor @raymondwagener continued to sip on water pulling us closer to home. The 3 sisters did not disappoint but the team stayed strong.

7 men crossed the line together (4 coastal, 3 inland)

The podium eludes us again (we will translate that for you later @bradleyfleming1 ) but an incredible weekend with mates never will. Triathletes by nature, friends by choice.

Just over a week till @oldmutualwealthdc and the team is fired up. Staying true to our roots, we have an all Ironman line up, with at least half the team either qualifying or racing Kona this year 🌺

1- Brad Fleming - Rouleurs founder, makes Ben Hoffmans calves look like toothpicks. Uses words like 'pappa' and 'now we gooi' @bradleyfleming1

2 -Travis Johnston , aka 'Maverick' Road Captain, breaks guiness world records to boost his ego. Can be a dick during races @travmaverickjohnston

3 - Ray Wagener - From Greybloem,The quad doctor, guaranteed top 6, nutrition strategy is 1 x wine gum, diabetic @raymondwagener

4- Gavin Mofsowitz - Also from Greybloem, the strongest Jew you will meet @gavin_mof

5 - Gareth Krisch aka 'G', quiet but strong AF, requires sunscreen @g_krisch

6 -Robbie Pearse- washed up triathlete turned epic MTB'er. Private school education & uses big words to show it @rob_pearse

7 - Dyl Jennings- 'The Slang 🐍' 'The Boeing ✈️' 'Oupa 👴' only wears IM kit (preferably from Kona) or old cricket gear @dylanjennings23

8 - Dyl Van Zyl - still looking for a road bike for DC @dylanvz_tri

9 - Mike Cannon - Part time model, full time moist @mikejohncannon

10 - Matt Trautman- The original Captain ⛵ after countless DM's we decided to consider his application to join the Rouleurs. Upon review, we suspect he will make it over Tradouw. But surviving the fines meeting maybe in doubt @mattytrautman

11 - Mike Frantzeskou- Greek God, will like your strava post, even before you have uploaded it @mike_frantzeskou

12 - Greg Black - Vegan, still searching for a top 6 finish to validate his ego @gregoryblack1 by @rouleurtritans
