BIOMA Lab x ROUMANS
BIOMA Lab and ROUMANS are collaborating on a research and development project that explores the future of bio-based fashion through nature’s masterpiece, cellulose cultivated through fermentation.
Developed through green chemistry processes, bacterial cellulose offers new possibilities for sustainable material innovation and fashion design. The project investigates how this fermentation-based material can be transformed into wearable forms, bridging the worlds of biomaterial development and contemporary fashion.
As the first outcome of the collaboration, ROUMANS and BIOMA Lab created a dynamic fashion piece that showcases the unique qualities of the material. Presented at the State of Fashion exhibition, the prototype offers a first glimpse into the potential of bacterial cellulose as a material for future fashion applications.
Building on this first prototype, the collection will be expanded and further developed, culminating in the presentation of a complete collection at the end of the year. by @roumans.world
