An excerpt from FOR THE SAKE OF LOVE

I love love.
Not the kind that needs a witness,
not the kind that keeps a score
I mean love that kicks down walls
then holds open the door.

I love women.
Feminine energy.
That softness with audacity,
that look across a room
that rearranges my anatomy

Yeah.
I love that naturally.

I love food.
Museums.
Art that makes me stop mid-sentence.
Blackness so rich
it turns survival into presence.
I love acts of kindness
nobody uploads for attention
egoless action,
good done without honorable mention.

And ACTION!
Because love ain’t passive.
Love moves.
Love gets its hands dirty.
Love shows up.
Love proves.

I love realness.
Transparency.
Tell me the truth
even when the truth ain’t flattering.
I’d rather hold something real
than watch something fake
keep shattering.

I love my husband.
I love how my husband understands
that my love was never a cage.
He doesn’t need to dim my heart
to know his name at this grown age.
My capacity to love
doesn’t make his love less
love ain’t division, baby.
Love multiplies when blessed.

Spending Indigenous Peoples’ Day at the @heardmuseum

As someone who believes deeply in the power of art to connect, educate, and transform communities, visiting the Heard Museum is a beautiful reminder that museums are more than places that preserve history. They are spaces where stories are reclaimed and voices are amplified.

Indigenous art is not simply a reflection of the past. It is a living, evolving expression of identity, resilience, creativity, and sovereignty.

Today and every day, we honor the original stewards of this land, celebrate Indigenous artists, and recognize the importance of ensuring their stories are told in their own voices. by @rouxeventsllc

Beautiful vibes, beautiful people all weekend long!

The freedom to show up unapologetically as ourselves.

Black, Queer, and surrounded by JOY! 🖤

Phoenix, you showed OUT! Until next time! 💗 by @rouxeventsllc

I’m no longer upset. I’m no longer confused.

The specific acts of harm no longer matter because the intention behind them is finally clear. The beautiful mask worn by someone I thought I knew has broken and I no longer need to pick up the pieces.

I’m not blaming. I’m going within, asking myself why I choose certain people and what parts of me still need truth and healing.

I’m no longer concerned with fabricated stories or explanations meant to diminish my character. I see those actions for what they are: the behavior of someone who was hurting long before me and not because of me.

The only person I control is me.
My healing. My emotions. My next chapter.

And again, I choose joy. by @rouxeventsllc

There was a time in my life when every new city meant another theatre, another production, another opportunity.

Before museums, before philanthropy, before community-building became my life’s work, I was once a stage manager. While touring and working with LORT across the country, I would make a point to apply annually for opportunities at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.

This weekend, I found myself standing at THE literal crossroads.

The Alliance Theatre was to my left.
The High Museum was to my right.

Sometimes life doesn’t lead us where we planned; it leads us exactly where we’re meant to be.

Walking through the High Museum wasn’t just a visit. It was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and self-actualization. A reminder that every audition, every application, every “not yet,” and every unexpected turn prepared me for the path I’m walking today.

Here’s to honoring who we were, celebrating who we are, and remaining open to the beautiful directions of life. by @rouxeventsllc

AMAZING CONNECTIONS at the 2026 Art Museum Development Association (AMDA) Conference, hosted by the extraordinary team at AMDA and Pérez Art Museum Miami. @pamm

Grateful for every conversation and new relationship formed during the conference. A special thank you to Emma Heald for creating a space where ideas and leadership truly converge.

To my newest connections—HEYYY! I look forward to staying in touch and exploring opportunities to strengthen our institutions and communities together. by @rouxeventsllc
