I wanted to share some thoughts and things that have been happening completely organically in my crafting interests lately.

I have been a crocheter almost exclusively since 2015, with only occasional ventures into other art forms such as watercolor and sewing. That feels like it is changing for good. I still enjoy crochet, but I feel like my desire to make things that I want has hit a plateau there.

Knitting and sewing have unlocked something in me and I want to explore them a lot more. I guess this is just me vocalizing this change out loud. I will be shifting to focus much more on these art forms. I will also not be returning to teach classes in the near future, at least for another year or longer. I am in an incubation phase. I have a lot to learn before I can feel good about teaching formally again.

That doesn't mean I won't come on here and share things that I'm learning though! I'm so excited to see where this may lead.

My progress on the Wild Swan shawl by @nimble_knits and @annelisemaigaard over the past week.

I listened to The Eye of the World (Book 1 of The Wheel of Time) by Robert Jordan throughout this. It was the perfect backdrop. by @rovingwren

While I have been sewing a lot, I have also been knitting a lot!! I have posted about this in my stories and it finally looks like something enough to show! I would say I am about at the halfway point. So excited for how it is turning out!!

I tried something new this morning and decided to record myself sewing. It was fraught but I am kinda happy to have my process documented!

The pattern is the Mini Bilby zipper pouch by @cocotteandcocreations.
I am preparing to do a drop with some hand sewn goodies in my shop. This little bag will be one of them! I will post when all the goodies are up!

I went thrift shopping for a shirt or two to wear with my newly finished Low Bib Pinafore by @yoursara_k. I tried several styles and color combinations before I found the one that felt magical!!

I did pick up the shirts in 3rd and 2nd place as well, but the top winner will become a staple for my summer closet even without the pinafore!!

I made the pinafore out of quilting cotton this time because it was cheaper by yard and I wanted to practice before making one out of expensive fabric. Really thrilled with the way it turned out!!! The next one will probably be a little shorter and I want to play with double gauze!!

I did really well at the fair this year 😊 It was so wonderful to go through the craft hall with Eric and see all the beautiful things!! My mom also won first place for a painting of a Rose of Sharon this year! So thankful to be part of an artistic family and community!!

The sewing continues!

I will eventually get back to knitting and crochet but this is so much fun!! My headphones fit in this tiny bag and I want to make dozens of them 😆
