We’re back baby!!!! ✨

+ we owe you a life update + pics!! We took a pause over the summer because I don’t think we’ve ever had such a chaotic period of time as a family 😅

• we sold our house, and while it was under contract with the new owners we got water damage during the 2nd wettest summer in Edmonton since 1902 😂 aka we were downing (no pun intended) in renovations under a clock before the new owners closed on the house
• the kids finished off their last year at their school and our youngest graduated kindergarten 🥹
• we tried desperately to fit fun memories into the chaos for the kids, for example the mud mini photoshoot we did with the kids & Rowan
• we bought a new house, in a new town, moved and proceeded to spend weeks setting the house up
• we surprised our daughter with her very own, very first pony 🥹 she’s a 3 year old quarter horse named Aelin (yes, after our favourite “Fireheart” and currently in training!) In the meantime Ivy has been working hard on her riding lessons with the school horses!
• I got my meet my very best booksta bestie @madsbookgarden in real life at the Calgary Zoo where we spent the day together with our families
• we commissioned incredible wall murals for our kiddos bedrooms that perfectly capture their individual personalities and favourite things
• we’ve explored our new town, gone to events, made memories as a family, had my best friend visit from Ontario, went to a couple concerts, picked raspberries from our own bushes in our new backyard, spent a ton of time at our barn taking care of our new girl in the wettest summer we’ve ever lived through, trained new pony, Ivy got to sit on her recently, etc 💓

Basically - it’s been an incredible summer, but also a jam-packed one 😂
But our office is set up in the new house, things have slowed down a bit, and I’m ITCHING to get back to my small business! I’ve missed this community, and have such amazing plans for the rest of the year!!

Thank you for being patient with me, giving me grace, and letting me come back better than ever 💓 by @rowan.and.co

We’ve grown from 0 to so many new friends + followers in such a short time, so I figured it was time to officially introduce myself!

My name is Riley, I’m 30 years old, and I’m a wife to my incredible husband Zak, and mom to our two amazing children, our golden retriever and our cat 🫶🏼
Ivy is our 7 year old daughter and my genuine mini-me, Colton is our 5 year old son who’s as feral as he is sweet, Rowan is our golden boy + shop namesake, and Dallas is our sweet kitty 💓

Some fun facts about me:

• I’m an avid reader, and although my tastes are all over the place - I’ll ride or die for fantasy & romantasy (throne of glass & dragons have my heart)
• My biggest obsession is lord of the rings and has been as long as I can remember
• My husband and I love to travel and we’re making it a point to go horse back riding everywhere we go!! We only recently started this plan while we were in Denver CO in Rocky Mountain National Park 😍
• I’m a classic type c mom - I have organization & lists for days but also catch me throwing them it all out the window for a lazy day and girl dinner
• Christmas is my all time, hands down favourite time of year
• I’m all about cozy hobbies; reading, colouring, puzzles, cozy gaming, etc.
• My DREAM vacation is a horse back riding safari in Africa to see the big 5 🦁
• I’ve grown up surrounded with animals, on the back of a horse, in the barn, etc. I don’t know where this life will take me, but I can promise it will be hand in hand with animals of some kind 😅
• We live in Alberta, Canada but we moved here a few years ago from Ontario, Canada!
• Wolves, lions, orcas, horses and dogs are my all time fav animals

I’ve gotten to know some of you so well over the last month, and I can’t wait to make even more friends as we grow our shop!! This business is a dream of mine. Thank you for being here 💓 My family and I are so thankful for you all!!! by @rowan.and.co

What started out as a love for @rowan.and.co and her bookish designs quickly turned into a love for Riley herself 🫶🏻

From countless comments, DMs, texts, and voice messages, we finally got to meet IRL and it was the most beautiful day ever 🥰

Exciting news!!!🎉

Our custom “Support Your Fav Indie Authors” sweater will be available for everyone to customize + make their own this Friday, May 1st at 8am MST!!💓

We had a crazy amount of feedback and requests that this custom design we made with @graceandthehea for @madsbookgarden for her bday needed to be available for everyone to personalize and order themselves. So now it will be!! 😍

• send us a list of your fav indie authors
• send us a bookish date that means something to you
• pick your size + colour
• wear it everywhere with pride ✌🏼 by @rowan.and.co

SUMMER IS COMING + so is tshirt weather!!!!
We’re wearing tshirts today in Alberta so that’s HUGE. Considering it was still snowing last week, and 20+ today I’m cautiously optimistic that this is the start of warm days + sunshine ☀️

Which brings me to the reminder that we can always take custom orders for any of our designs + put them on t-shirts, hoodies, long sleeves, etc!

Comment below and let me know if you want to see t-shirts as their own option on the website!!
• If we get enough interest in doing tshirt options before summer on the website, we’ll pick a random comment below to get a second free tshirt with their first tshirt order! 💓 by @rowan.and.co

hellllllo 🥹 I HAVEN’T ABANDONED YOU ALL I SWEAR!! Between my to-do list, plans, endless tbr, incoming orders and list of things keeping me up late at night to stress about - this sweater is feeling pretty fitting though 😅

We’ve decided to put our house up for sale in two weeks, and buy a house outside the city! Which is very exciting for our family, but also incredibly stressful with a million things to do!!

What does this mean for you?
• For now it means that all orders coming in - custom and website orders are still open, there will be no delay at all in fulfillment!
• We 𝒂𝒓𝒆 pushing our equestrian launch date, because while I’m actively working on it, I’m also actively preparing to sell and move 😅 we will also be doing a giveaway to celebrate!!
• We may have to close shop for a week or two when we are physically moving between houses, but that update will come later!
• I fully plan on continuing to scale this business and dedicating my absolute all to it - and this move is going to help us grow, but we have to get through the next couple months of chaos first, so bear with me please 🥹 by @rowan.and.co

💌 Birthday Bookish Mail 💌 - Part TWO

If you saw my post yesterday you know that I placed a custom surprise order with @rowan.and.co and she absolutely nailed it 😍😍😍

What I didn’t know was that Riley and my best friend @graceandthehea were scheming together to surprise me with ANOTHER custom sweater 🥺

At first glance, I saw the front of the sweater showing off a custom indie author design which is absolutely BEAUTIFUL 📚

THEN

I saw the sleeves that say mother and physio - my favourite jobs in the whole world 💕

THEN

I saw the back and that blew me away because it’s a list of my FAVOURITE INDIE AUTHORS 😭

If you’re an indie author featured on this sweater just know how special you and your books are to me 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Thank you @graceandthehea for this thoughtful and most amazing custom sweater and to @rowan.and.co for making everyone’s custom sweater dreams come true 🥹🩷

💌 Birthday Bookish Mail 💌 - Part ONE

With my birthday next week (April 11), I wanted to treat myself to a new @rowan.and.co sweater 🤗

I slid into Riley’s DMs to see if she’d be willing to create a surprise design for me with me telling her a few of my favourite things but without seeing the final product until it arrived at my house 🙈

Let me tell you I was blown away - it features all of my favourite things and special hidden gem that Riley included (constellations for the night sky the day my daughter was born) 🥹🌌

I am forever so thankful that bookstagram brought me to @rowan.and.co and Riley because safe to say she’s my soul sister for life now 🩷🩷🩷

And if you haven’t already, please check her out and give her a follow to see all the incredible designs she has to offer PLUS some custom pieces for whatever you have in mind 🫶🏻

We’re baaaaack from our vacation and ready to throw ourselves into our business ✨

And we have exciting news, with perfect timing! April 18th at 6pm MST you can expect our “Equestrian Collection” FINALLY 🩷 which is even more exciting because my daughter Ivy re-started riding lessons last night after a short break out of the saddle, so this announcement feels perfectly timed with us back in the barn.
New barn, new barn fam, new equestrian collection + SO many good things coming for my book girlies this spring as well. 👀

* ft my daughter wearing her barn’s team merch that - you guessed it - we made for everyone 😉 not-so-subtle reminder that we can make your custom order dreams come true 🤍 by @rowan.and.co

Okay LAST post before we’re on vacation with our little fam in Mexico for the week, but I couldn’t resist teasing you all with one more equestrian design before then 😇

Our next collection we launch will be our Equestrian Collection and you can expect it April 18th by 6pm MST 🦄
There will be something for everyone, whether you’re a die hard horse girl, horse show mom, casual trail rider or if you’ve never even touched a horse but you’re obsessed with them books / tv and cowboy romances 😉

Women don’t owe you SHIT.

Point. Blank. Period.

Available with just the front design or you can order it with back design as well! We’ve had a number of orders for these Girl Power designs through our DMs already, which are all shipping out tomorrow - and we’re actively working on getting the listings up on the website as well!

And just a quick thank you to everyone for being so patient this winter! We’ve dealt with sickness after sickness in our family, and so our focus has been on fulfilling + shipping all orders on a timely basis instead of building here on socials - so we haven’t gone quiet, just focused 😅

We’re headed to Mexico on Sunday, and we are excited for a much needed week of rest, relaxation and a lot of sun! It will be nice to recharge, feel healthy for the first time all winter (🤞🏼) and come back ready to keep growing + drop new collections (equestrians, book dragons + moms we’re looking at you) 💓
