Schnitzel Night on Sundays was fun last month! We’re gonna keep it rolling with Sunday Supper, starting tomorrow night from 5pm-8pm! The kitchen team has been busy creating a new menu for y’all. We have a couple of lovely pastas for entrees this week and plenty of small plates to share.

PS: there are gluten sensitive options for the pasta

We’re roasting the last batches of Santa Cecilia next week. We’ve been purchasing this coffee for the last 3 years and this one might be our favorite harvest yet. It comes from a small 3 hectare farm owned and managed by brothers Juan Carlos and Wilson Gallego. It’s complex and punchy with perfumey florals. ✨Seasonal Menu✨ (no, not that one.. yet 😈)

🥤Cheers to 5 Years🥤
A VERY limited drink at the downtown cafe this weekend for our 5 year anniversary. The base is a cheerwine syrup made with birch bark, sarsaparilla, kudzu root, and warming spices and bottled back in their glasses. Made into your choice of an espresso tonic or latte and topped with vanilla cream, birthday sprinkles, and a maraschino cherry.

🍊 Blood Orange and Fig Leaf Tonic🍊
This year, we subbed in a toasted fig leaf syrup for the Bloody Basil espresso tonic we’ve made over the years. Still tart, juicy, and refreshing and still 10/10.

This Friday marks 5 years since we opened our downtown location in Asheville. Each year has brought its own challenge. Whether we were pushing through a pandemic or a hurricane, it was always clear that the thing that matters most is the community that surrounds us: friends, family, our team, regulars, first time guests and everything in between.

In the spirit of looking back and honoring the folks that have helped make it happen, we’re having the @hexcoffee team come down on Friday to take over the bar. They’ll be serving up some beautiful coffees from 10am-1pm and will then be leading a public cupping starting at 1:00.

For a little context, @hexcoffee has always been one of my favorite coffee companies. From their inception, they’ve been continually pushing the industry forward with their standards for quality, approach to brewing and drink creation, while being a pillar for their own community in Charlotte. When they started roasting, their approach to green buying and roasting was just as inspiring. I worked there as a production roaster briefly (too briefly due to the pandemic). Despite my short tenure, Chandler, Tanner, and John Michael still include me as if I was there for a decade. They’ve supported Rowan from before day one and have continued to mentor and support us ever since. This Sunday is the last Schnitzel Night at Rowan West! We’ve pulled out some wines we’re excited about for the evening’s by the glass list and Chef June is whipping up some extra surprises.

Can’t go wrong with a glass of @justvin_dutraive gamay from the big bottle or @lightwellsurvey riesling but you’re extra right if you get both! 😘

The current guest roasters retail selection is stacked right now with @seycoffee and @tandemcoffeeroasters

We visited each of their cafes on a roadtrip back in June and had some incredible coffees at both spots and are happy to have a little piece of our trip to share.
