Ending this Summer by prepping with all my heart for leading High Holy Days music at @beyttikkun and then performing with @ardeaensemble at @atelier.kromatica in October, when I will also be finally recording the full length album I have been trying to make for *seven* years with my boo Nathan Swedlow <3

Still feeling grateful for all the blazing heat of New York, Los Angeles, and Baja Sur that has opened and rearranged me these past months as we begin descent into the colder seasons. by @rowankatz

This High Holiday season, we’re building a musical experience rooted in participation, tradition, and the many sounds of the Jewish diaspora.

Led by High Holiday Music Director Rowan Katz, this year’s music will bring together beloved, familiar melodies with new selections from diverse Jewish liturgical traditions and contemporary music. We’ll take time to learn unfamiliar melodies together, so that our prayers aren’t simply performed for us, but sung and embodied by all of us.

Rowan will be joined by incredible musicians:
Ben Klausner — guitar
Jan Padover — percussion
Nathan Swedlow — upright bass

Go to last slide for a preview of the sound and spirit of the holidays❤️

Join us online or in-person for The Sacred Practice of Being: High Holidays 5787 at Beyt Tikkun.

Registration is now open. Link in bio. by @rowankatz

High Holy Days are right around the corner and we are excited to share our theme for High Holy Days 5787: The Sacred Practice of Being Here

As a community practicing anti-Zionist Judaism and celebrating the richness of Jewish life in diaspora. this question guides us into the new year: What does it mean to truly be here?

Here in the places we call home. Here in celebration and awe of the universe. Here with one another and our ancestors. Here in the belly of the beast funding war and genocide. Here with the heartbreak of this moment. Here facing what is true, tending to our responsibilities, and asking how we embody who we want to be in our hereness.

We are so excited to announce Rowan Katz as our High Holy Days Musical Leader and cantor, alongside Beyt Tikkun’s Rabbi Cat Zavis and a team of musicians, guests speakers, and community members.

I’m so excited to bring this masterclass style workshop to @diiiiiiisssshhhh !

This masterclass is intended for songwriters, performers, DIY musicians, and inter-disciplinary artists interested receive coaching on a particular piece of material in a supportive group setting!

A masterclass format like this is an awesome way to get feedback and hard skills for a more accessible rate all at once. Not only can the feedback you receive in the session be potentially transformative for your practice, but you’ll be watching many other artists receive feedback and coaching as well, which will be full of extremely useful voice education and support techniques.

ALL info is at the link in my bio to sign up and learn more. by @rowankatz

On a mountain in Switzerland in 2023, a lone German man approached me and asked if he could take a video of me singing to the alps, then sent us a USB a few months later 💓
