🌟 INK GIRLS and CLOCK HANDS out now!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

✴️CLOCK HANDS IS OUT!!!✴️

Whether you’re an INK GIRLS fan or a first time reader, this book is for folks who want a story about kids fighting for their communities and their dreams!

Continuing the tradition from INK GIRLS, this book contains:
🔹one dreamer with a love for metalworking
🔹one clockmaker’s daughter with a penchant for chaos
🔹one best friend with a strong sense of duty
🔹one big community that comes together to protect one another

And also:
🔹Two cameo’s for returning readers
🔹A clock tower (drawn in every possible angle)
🔹So many ships…
🔹Fire!!

And also:
🔹All the blood sweat and tears that @mariekeyn and I could put into a book, and all the love as well. It’s been a honor and a joy working with as incredible a collaborator as Marieke.
🔹Again, life-saving rainbow flats from @whittledraws and their army of flatters!
🔹The wonderful eyes of @marthamihalick, Sylvie Le’Floch, and the whole Greenwillow Books team
🔹Every single reader who’s enjoyed INK GIRLS!!! Thank you for supporting the Siannerra series, it truly means the world 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

It’s been out for a bit…but I wanted to officially share the cover for CLOCK HANDS!!!! It’s been a labor of love and I can’t wait to share this story with the world 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Preorder to meet 3 new incredible kids, an epic clock tower drawn in 3-point perspective, and of course, more beloved rooftop scenes 🙂‍↕️

Cover design: Sylvie Le Floc’h
Written by: @mariekeyn
Flatted by: @whittledraws

Book 2 in the Siannerra series, CLOCK HANDS tells the story of Vale, who dreams of being a metalworker’s apprentice yet cannot join a guild because of high apprenticeship fees. When a new clockmaker arrives from abroad, Vale and their friends join together to build Siannerra’s first astronomical clock, and take on the might of the guilds.

I got to do the cover illustration for THE FIREFLY CROWN! It was a blast drawing translucent cricket wings, ominous dark bug swarms, and a dramatic red/orange light source 🫡🫡

Thank you to Yelena Safronova and Donna Mark for art directing!!

I’m chronically behind on posting art, but it’s time to catch up 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️ first up is THEO TAN AND THE IRON FAN, the second in the duology. I loved princess iron fan ever since watching animated Journey to the West as a kid (iykyk) so it was an extra treat to draw her for this cover

Many thanks to Mallory Grigg for the art direction!

It's the last day of INK GIRLS month, so it's time to share this lovely review from the Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books!

📖: "The inspiring message of empowerment, coupled with the stunning artwork, makes a worthwhile tale for young readers."

As we're heading into the chaos that is December, if you're looking for a book to gift, let us remind you of some of the cool things that INK GIRLS has:

✨️ Girls fighting for their home and for the truth
❤️ The power of friendship and found family
💙 Community organizing in the face of censorship and corruption
🏰 A stunning cityscape
🐈‍⬛ The best cat
✨️ Joy and hope
