A new show at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC), “Marine & Coastal Art,” will be on view July 26 through August 23. This popular annual exhibition features artwork by RAC Exhibiting Members with a marine and coastal theme.

The opening reception on Sunday, July 26 from 4 pm to 6 pm is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12 to 5 pm plus Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm. More info on the RAC website, link in BIO #rowaytonct #localartists by @rowaytonarts

Galstonbury Photographer Matt Patterson stopped by the gallery to see his color photograph "Momma's Instincts" hanging in the Photography & Sculpture show (at left). He says it was taken in "Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. A sow rises up on the tidal flat, her cubs standing their ground beside her. LAST DAYS FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHY & SCULPTURE SHOW! Stamford artist Brian O’Neill was awarded 2nd Place (Sculpture) in our Photography & Sculpture show for "Venus Rising." This is a kinetic sculpture that was designed to interact with sunlight, wind, as well as being lit at night. Brian says "Venus Rising was created while 'drawing with metal’ in the open studio, otherwise known as my yard. As a stargazer, I noted the prominent position of Venus, and felt the title fit."
