Barbara is certainly relaxing in her new home. This is “pittie talk” if you aren’t familiar. She doesn’t bark…she talks, like a lady 🥰 by @rowen35

I’m not Catholic but I loved this man. My reasons are personal. He wasn’t perfect, he didn’t adequately address the sexual abuse within his church but he was a good, simple, humble man. He was progressive and political and savvy and a little petty sometimes (he did not like Mango Mussolini lol). May he rest peacefully. 😞 by @rowen35

6 years ago almost to the day this big boy came to me. I had just lost Joe 2 months prior, I was grieving, lonely, heartbroken, bitter. He loved me unconditionally from the second he walked into my life. He protected me ferociously until almost his last breath, and he gave me a reason to keep living after losing the most important person in my life. Today, after a sudden and very unexpected cancer diagnosis, he passed over the Rainbow Bridge where I’m pretty damn sure Joe was waiting saying “come on Scrap, let’s play ball.” This has been the hardest thing I have ever faced. Even losing Joe pales in comparison because Joe was in control of his decision and I’d had 26 wonderful years and 4 years to prepare. There will never be another Joe and there will never be another Scrap.

Rest easy my Very Good Big Boy, the perimeter is secure. by @rowen35

There must be metaphor in these pictures of Great Lakes waterfowl, Canadian geese in this case. Something that compares these intrepid little birds to the grit and stamina and determination of us Rust Belt dwellers. It’s a daunting 19 degrees out, the lake is choppy, I’m sure it’s single digits with the wind chill, but these little things are heading out in large groups, just bobbing along and surviving. Definitely a metaphor of some kind there somewhere. by @rowen35
