thank you lookeba-sickles softball for making my last two years of high school softball so memorable. I couldn’t ask for a better team to end my high school career with, you guys aren’t just teammates but also my best friends. Even though we fell short I wouldn’t trade this season or these teammates for anything. Although I did take off my panther softball jersey for the last time, I get the opportunity to put a new one on and play at the next level. My dream has always been to win a state title ever since I was a little girl. I never got the chance but I am grateful God has even given me the ability to play this sport, even after tearing my ACL, God gave me the strength to play through it. Little me would be so proud of what I have accomplished over the past four years of my high school softball career. Making it to state almost every year, getting awards I never thought would be possible, and making memories with each team I’ve played with, but it wouldn’t have been possible without my mom, dad, coaches and teammates by my side helping me every step of the way. I wouldn’t have half the friends or memories if it wasn’t for softball. My softball career isn’t quite over yet, but my time playing softball as a Lady Panther has officially come to an end.

Luke 22:42 is a verse I wrote on the back of my helmet and it says “not my will, but yours be done” and it just reminded me that even if I didn’t know the outcome of the season or if my knee was going to make it through the season that God has greater plans and to just give it all to him and trust in him💝 by @rowynfite

thank you basketball, for everything.💔

Little Rowyn in the last picture never realized how hard it was going to be to say goodbye to basketball and how much she would love it. She would be so proud and mostly shocked at everything we’ve accomplished over the past four years. I could go on and on about the love I have for this game but no amount of words could truly express how I feel. Saying goodbye to basketball has been the worst heartbreak I’ve ever felt but the memories that came along with it were worth every single tear. This team made all the heartbreak so worth it I wouldn’t want any other group of girls by my side through everything that’s happened. Not only did I spend literally all my spare time practicing, running, or watching film for basketball it’s also something that gave me pure happiness anytime I stepped on any court. With my parents by my side through this journey it made everything so much easier. When it first happened my mom reassured me that I would be able to play through it, even though I felt like I wouldn’t be able to accomplish all my goals I had set for myself. She said that everything happens for a reason and she couldn’t have been more right. Without her being at every single game, wearing my number, being my number one supporter and cheerleader, being the best role model for me to look up to, and loving God with all her heart I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Having my dad push me every single day is something I’ll always be grateful for. He made me love the game as much as he did and without his support and making me work as hard as I can, I wouldn’t have been able to play to my full potential. Him being my coach ever since I fell in love with the game even on the days I didn’t feel like it, made me the player I was. Tearing my acl not only gave me a story to tell but it showed me how strong I can be especially with God by my side, that’s why I played this season “For HIS Glory”. Being done with this sport feels like I’m also losing a big part of who I am, but knowing God has greater plans for me brings me great peace. “I wrote for His glory on my shoes at the start of the season because knowing I would have to play my senior year on a torn ACL I would need the Lords help and to give Him all the glory. Playing my last game at the new Coliseum and making memories every step of the way is something I’ll cherish for my whole life. Basketball was never just a game to me, it is a part of who I am and shaped me into the person I’ve become. I’m not sure what I’m going to do in my spare time, not having basketball in my life anymore. Not going to the gym whenever I get bored, when I need to take my mind off of things, when I need to prepare before a big game, and just having basketball as my second home it’s going to be hard for a while, but I know God has greater plans for me in the future.
