Casa de Herrero · Corte de Blancas 2023 Desde Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Cuchillo de Palo trabaja con una mirada de enología creativa y experimentación, con Ernesto “Nesti” Bajda al frente de la elaboración. Este Casa de Herrero se inspira en el concepto de “Vino de Pueblo”, ligado a una tradición local y comunitaria alrededor del vino. El corte reúne Chenin Blanc, Viognier y Chardonnay, provenientes de viñas de entre 20 y 30 años de Vista Flores y zonas cercanas. Simon Bize & Fils · Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Fournaux 2020 Una casa familiar de Borgoña cuya historia comienza en 1880 y atraviesa varias generaciones. Les Fournaux es un Premier Cru de Pinot Noir nacido de apenas una hectárea, con viñas plantadas en 1962 y 1963: casi seis décadas al momento de esta cosecha. En sus tintos, Simon Bize trabaja con racimos enteros o parcialmente despalillados según la denominación y la añada, fermentación natural y un uso mínimo de barricas nuevas. For its red wines, Simon Bize works with whole clusters or partially destemmed fruit depending on the appellation and vintage, natural fermentation, and very limited use of new oak. Mugrón · Valles Calchaquíes Cuatro enólogos y una misma idea: construir un vino desde miradas diferentes. Francisco “Paco” Puga, Mariano Quiroga Adamo, Claudio Maza y Rafael Domingo trabajan con uvas de distintas zonas de los Valles Calchaquíes, elaborando por separado para después encontrarse en el vino final. En esta ocasión, Mugrón Negro Malbec, una de las expresiones salteñas del proyecto. El nombre también cuenta parte de la historia: un mugrón es un sarmiento que se entierra para que eche raíces y dé origen a una nueva planta. Una buena metáfora para un proyecto enraizado en Cafayate y construido en conjunto. ——— Mugrón · Calchaquí Valleys Four winemakers, one shared idea: creating a wine through different perspectives. Francisco “Paco” Puga, Mariano Quiroga Adamo, Claudio Maza and Rafael Domingo work with grapes from different areas of the Calchaquí Valleys, vinifying separately before bringing everything together in the final wine. This time, Mugrón Negro Malbec, one of the project’s expressions from Salta. The name also tells part of the story: a mugrón is a vine shoot that is buried so it can take root and give rise to a new plant. Hermandad Winemaker Series Sangiovese 2023 Dentro de Falasco, Winemaker Series nace desde una idea de libertad enológica: no parte de cepas predeterminadas ni de una receta fija. En cada cosecha, el equipo elige aquellas uvas que muestran algo particular y trabaja a partir de ellas. Este Sangiovese nace en Finca Mazzeo, Cordón del Plata, Tupungato, Valle de Uco. Fermenta en concreto y tiene una crianza en roble francés con predominio de barricas usadas, dejando que la madera acompañe sin ganar protagonismo. En copa aparecen violetas, cereza, ciruela y mora, con un toque de pimienta negra, buena frescura y taninos de intensidad media. Sangiovese en Tupungato no está entre las variedades más extendidas, y ahí aparece buena parte del interés de esta etiqueta: una cepa de fuerte identidad interpretada desde un paisaje distinto y bajo una mirada enológica con mayor libertad. ——- Hermandad Winemaker Series Sangiovese 2023 Within Falasco, Winemaker Series was created around the idea of winemaking freedom: there are no predetermined varieties or fixed recipes. Each vintage, the team selects the grapes that show something distinctive and builds the wine around their potential. This Sangiovese comes from Finca Mazzeo, Cordón del Plata, Tupungato, in the Uco Valley. It is fermented in concrete and aged in French oak, mostly in used barrels, allowing the wood to support the wine without taking center stage. On the palate and nose, it shows violet, cherry, plum and blackberry, with a touch of black pepper, bright freshness and medium tannins. San Juan también viene mostrando un registro más delicado, especialmente desde sus zonas de altura y climas más moderados, con Pedernal como uno de los nombres destacados de ese recorrido. AYA significa “alma”, nombre que resume la búsqueda de esta línea: reunir en cada vino el carácter de distintos paisajes de la provincia y de quienes los trabajan. En este Pinot Noir 2024 aparecen fruta roja, frescura, cuerpo ligero y taninos delicados. Su atractivo está justamente ahí: mostrar que la variedad también encuentra lugar en este origen y ampliar la mirada sobre el Pinot Noir argentino. ———- San Juan has also been showing a more delicate side, especially in its high-altitude areas and cooler conditions, with Pedernal standing out as one of the most compelling examples of this shift. AYA means “soul,” a name that reflects the idea behind the range: bringing together in each wine the character of different landscapes across the province and the people who work them. In this 2024 Pinot Noir, red fruit, freshness, a light body and delicate tannins define the profile. “Vino inspirado en Monte Hermoso.” En Lucy, esa idea de SantéVins toma una forma muy concreta. Su historia remite a la Lucinda Sutton, una goleta norteamericana que en 1917, rumbo a Bahía Blanca, quedó atrapada en una fuerte tempestad. Parte de su cargamento de madera terminó en la costa y quedó ligado a la construcción del histórico Hotel Balneario Monte Hermoso. Lucy 2025 es un clarete de Cardinal Sauvage, Pedro Giménez, Riesling y Malbec, elaborado con uvas de viñedos agroecológicos de Río Negro, fermentación espontánea y sin filtrar. Más que el corte, me interesó el gesto detrás del vino: tomar una historia local y volver a contarla desde una botella. SantéVins, proyecto de Martín Abenel nacido en Punta Alta, trabaja en pequeña escala y con baja intervención, con una identidad muy ligada al sudoeste bonaerense. Una costa, un barco, una historia y un vino que encuentra otra forma de contarla. ——— “Wine inspired by Monte Hermoso.” In Lucy, that idea at the heart of SantéVins takes on a very tangible form. Its story goes back to the Lucinda Sutton, an American schooner that, in 1917, was caught in a severe storm while sailing toward Bahía Blanca. Part of its timber cargo ended up on the coast and became linked to the construction of the historic Hotel Balneario Monte Hermoso. Lucy 2025 is a clarete made from Cardinal Sauvage, Pedro Giménez, Riesling and Malbec, using grapes from agroecological vineyards in Río Negro, with spontaneous fermentation and no filtration. More than the blend itself, what interested me was the idea behind the wine: taking a local story and retelling it through a bottle. SantéVins, Martín Abenel’s project born in Punta Alta, works on a small scale with a low-intervention approach and a strong connection to the southwest of Buenos Aires Province. Mariflor Sauvignon Blanc 2025. En Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Mariflor es el proyecto de Michel y Dany Rolland dentro de Clos de los Siete. Este Sauvignon Blanc nace de una pequeña parcela de dos hectáreas, plantada en 2003 a unos 1.100 metros de altura. El nombre tiene además un origen familiar: une Marie, una de las hijas de Michel y Dany, con “flor”, en referencia a Vista Flores. La elaboración combina pequeñas piletas de cemento con forma de huevo, trabajo en roble francés y seis meses sobre lías con bâtonnage. Un Sauvignon Blanc de Valle de Uco con frescura, textura y una expresión propia. ——— Mariflor Sauvignon Blanc 2025. In Vista Flores, in Argentina’s Uco Valley, Mariflor is Michel and Dany Rolland’s project within Clos de los Siete. This Sauvignon Blanc comes from a small two-hectare parcel planted in 2003 at around 1,100 meters above sea level. The name also has a family connection: it brings together Marie, one of Michel and Dany’s daughters, and “flor,” a reference to Vista Flores. The winemaking combines small egg-shaped concrete vats, French oak and six months on the lees with bâtonnage. Domaine Nico explora el Pinot Noir de parcelas de altura del Valle de Uco, un proyecto de Laura Catena inspirado en la tradición de Borgoña de mirar cada sitio de manera individual y entender qué aporta cada parcela al vino. El proyecto comenzó a tomar forma a partir de plantaciones de Pinot Noir en Villa Bastías, Tupungato, y con los años fue profundizando el trabajo sobre clones, suelos, alturas y exposiciones distintas. La botella de Grand Mère 2024, de Villa Bastías, a 1120 msnm, sintetiza muy bien la búsqueda de Domaine Nico: explorar cuánto puede cambiar una misma variedad según el lugar. ____ Domaine Nico explores high-altitude Pinot Noir from individual parcels in the Uco Valley, a project by Laura Catena inspired by Burgundy’s tradition of looking at each site individually and understanding what each parcel brings to the wine. The project began to take shape with Pinot Noir plantings in Villa Bastías, Tupungato, and over the years has deepened its focus on clones, soils, elevation and different exposures.
