People often ask what working with a PR actually looks like, so here’s a little behind-the-scenes of my world.

Strategy, press lists, fittings, WhatsApps with stylists, and the occasional fashion emergency.

I’m RoxAnne, a PR & Social strategist with 17+ years experience working across fashion, luxury and culture.

September is over, and I’m just about recovered from everything that happened.
This was a highlight, dinner with the press @arlingtonrestaurant plus @simoneyusuff @emekamcquade. It took a village, namely @charlottearif @juultem and my angel @ninablachowicz - about 80000 WhatsApp messages and one emergency coffee at @thewolseley taken in Arlington Restaurant by @roxannethepr

When I met @nanakinq in Cannes in June, I didn’t realise I’d be speaking on a panel at his first solo exhibition a few weeks later..

KUBOLORRRR is all about celebrating the creative child - the one who doesn’t necessarily fit the traditional mould, but wants to make, perform, draw, talk, move and create. See last pic of me dancing on the roof of my parents canal boat (long story..) aged 5…

Such a good evening chatting about creative careers, confidence, knowing your value, networking and what “putting yourself out there” actually looks like.

Things I’ve learnt are worth spending money on as a freelancer 💸

Some make me more productive, others get me out of the house. And let’s face it’s, a couple make working for myself feel a little bit more glam ✨

And yes, I know the Soho House membership might be very basic PR gal… but I stand by it - I go at least twice a week!

What do Cannes & Wimbledon have in common? 🎾✨

More than you’d think.

Last week I was at Cannes Lions.
This week I was invited to Wimbledon by Range Rover.

Not because I’m a content creator.
Because of a relationship I’d built a year earlier.

It’s easy to think networking happens in meeting rooms.

In reality, it happens over coffee, compliments, cocktails, and conversations.

One person introduces you to another.
One event leads to the next.

The work gets you in the room.

The relationships get you invited back. 💚

(And yes… Idris Elba really did wear an adidas Stella McCartney snakeskin bumbag)

Last week I did something that probably looked totally backwards from the outside.

I moved my office into a space almost half the size.

Not because business is slowing down. Quite the opposite.

As a freelancer, I’ve learnt that growth isn’t always about taking up more space. Sometimes it’s about creating a setup that works better for the business you’re building.

So when a smaller office became available in the same building, I jumped at it. The day London Watch Week started…lol!

The move itself? Slightly less straightforward.
Between Sue and I, we moved about 90% of the office ourselves. The movers somehow managed to get my cow-print sofa stuck, set off the fire alarm and evacuate the building… so that was fun…

But now I’m here.

Smaller office.
Lower overheads.
Same big ideas.
A happy Welly, who has already settled in

Sometimes the best business decisions aren’t the flashy ones - they’re the practical ones that give you more freedom to build what’s next.
