POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The first two weeks of Inktober are already over. This year, for a variety of reasons, everything is a little different than usual, but I’m really glad about the challenge because it gets me to the drawing table for at least a few minutes a day to practice a little with my ink brush. Even if I sometimes just come up with nonsense.

1 - apple

“The weather is nice, and fall is just around the corner—maybe it’s time to move again,” thought Mr. Worm.

2-relic

3 - miniature

“You know,” said Mr. Worm, after admiring the white windows, the carved door sills, and, of course, the perfect tree, which would provide such lovely shade in the summer, for a while, “this will probably be more than my budget allows. But thank you for showing it to me.”

4 - cactus

“Wouldn’t that be a nice and simple spell to practice for my homework in magic?” thought Mrs. Hedgehog when someone told her that apples taste especially good when you turn them into a spicy variety. “If only I could find my glasses. But never mind—I’m sure I remember the spell.”

5 - smack

(To be continued)

6 - ogre

„How dare you!“

7-panic

8 - stinky

Mr. Worm wasn’t sure if that would really be a good alternative for an apartment

9 - ram

„I don’t see you—you don’t see me—I don’t see you—you don’t see …“
„Oh, an apple is so delicious.“
„Delicious? Did he just say ‚delicious‘?—OMG! I don’t see you—you don’t see me…“

10 - mystical
Mr. worm (still looking for a new place to live) could only vaguely remember what his grandmother had told him—something about an apple castle that you had to wish for very, very hard if you wanted to live in it.

11 rescue - „Run faster or he‘ll eat me!“

12 toss - I have no idea how this came into my mind, but Mr. Worm is still trying to find a new home.

Freaky Friday draw along @svslearn is all about playing around, trying out different media, and letting go of perfectionism entirely—now that I’ve been participating in these sessions for quite a while, I’ve realized that my favorite medium is one where I use ink (in various colors) and water, combined with a very light initial sketch using a watercolor pencil.
Thanks for the great session @anthonywheelerart and @paperstoriesworkshop! by @roxikettenbeil

The week is over, and it’s Freaky Friday again @svslearn . Today, we tried our hand at pirates with our instructors @anthonywheelerart and @leewhiteillo .

I wanted to experiment a little with some new material, so I captured it in a short video. It was a lot of fun!

Rules as always: We had a total of four photo references - for the first three of them we had 12minutes, for the last one 5 mins - draw it in your style or interpret it as you want.

I got my hands on some new liquid water color over the week and wanted to play with it.

Another Freaky Friday @svslearn - today we were drawing wolfs, raccoons and a little tiger just for fun and after references with our instructors @davidhohnillo and @jakeparker

The rules are simple: 1 hour, 5 references, 10 minutes draw it in your style for each reference - have fun

Thanks for the session!

What a year (no further comments)! I‘m super happy that I could join the #freakyfridaydrawalong sessions @svslearn ! Yesterday‘s theme provided by @leewhiteillo and Sam Cotterill was „scrooged“ and I thoroughly enjoyed it 😊 - four reference prompts, 10-11 minutes each, no eraser

It‘s Freaky Friday again 🎉- today‘s theme was Heads. These sessions are so much fun! Thanks to the amazing instructors @anthonywheelerart @davidhohnillo and @leewhiteillo from @svslearn

These heads are loosely drawn from random photo references provided during the session. I decided to do them trafitionally with dip pen and ink - I really love these drawings when you can’t erase anything. The only way is forward and accept what is going on on the paper.

Here‘s another illustration I just contributed to the monthly „How to fix your art“-challenge @svslearn - this month prompt is „A house built high up off the ground“ - mixed media (watercolor, dip pen/ink, digital).

And another two weeks have passed - that means: a new Freaky Friday session heralds the start of the weekend. Thanks for hosting this super fun event @svslearn @anthonywheelerart @leewhiteillo - Do I have to say that it was great fun again (of course it was!)

Five reference pictures, free realization, 10 minutes each - this week‘s motto was „Freaky Tiki and Funky Cold Kachina“

After taking Lee’s watercolor course in April, I felt like experimenting today - watercolor/140lb cold press paper, watercolor crayon

Did we talk already about quick sketching in water color? This is also from the course I‘m currently taking and it took 24 minutes - feeling slightly more and more confident with all the water around on my drawingdesk 💦🐠😊

I am currently taking a watercolor class with @leewhiteillo and @svslearn . This course is so good! I’m looking forward to trying out the basics I’ve learned in my illustrations soon - and by the way: even quick little master studies are just fun!
