Baby girl you are unlike any person I’ve ever encountered! You are a true Unicorn… magical in every single way possible! There are no words great enough to even describe you but gosh the list is endless! Your capabilities astonish me in all that you do! Your beautiful face makes mommy’s heart overflow with love every time I see or think of you! Your fierce, sassy, genius, overachieving, decisiveness, loving, honest, silly, brave, confident, one of a kind soul…. Is everything I prayed you would be BUT didn’t know it was possible to exist at the level you give it and I wouldn’t change it for the world! Rylin Jaye…. You are my favorite part of my story, you will always be my best friend, and I am the luckiest mommy in the world to call you mine! First day of school! 🥹🤍

Hayden started Kindergarten today and Rylin started 1st grade! And somehow my mama heart is both SO proud and completely not okay. 😭

Hayden walked into his new classroom at his big school like he had been doing it forever. So confident, so excited… no big goodbye needed. Just a little wave from his desk with the biggest smile on his face. 🥹 My sweet boy was READY.

And Rylin… because apparently the first day of 1st grade wasn’t enough excitement, she lost her 5th tooth as we were pulling into the school parking lot this morning! 😂🦷 Her SECOND tooth this week!

My sweet girl has had the first-day jitters getting the best of her the last few days, and I have prayed nonstop that she would walk into that classroom today feeling confident, happy and loved and that she would have the BEST day ever. 🙏

And Mama… well, I held it together until the second I got back into my car. Then the tears started coming in waves. 😭

As hard as it is to send my babies off, I am SO thankful to be getting back into a schedule and routine. This summer was brutal as a full-time working mom. I constantly felt like I was failing somewhere…. if I was giving work what it needed, I wasn’t giving my kids enough, and if I was giving my kids what they needed, I felt behind at work. And let’s not forget my poor husband who had to deal with my stressed-out mess all summer long. 😂

But now here I am… counting down the seconds until pickup.

I cannot WAIT to hear every tiny detail about their days, squeeze them a little tighter, and have my favorite little chaos-makers back with me. Funny how I spent all summer overwhelmed by the chaos and now after just a few hours without them I miss every bit of it. 🥹

See you soon, my sweet loves. Mama misses you more than you know. 🤍😭

A and a day late… 💖

But celebrating this girl turning SIX was a jam-packed week of all the things she dreamed of — Disneyland, mermaid nails, and a mermaid beach party! 🧜‍♀️✨

And although her beach party happened to fall on the windiest, rainiest, coldest day of the year… it was still mer-tastically full of everything a 6-year-old loves 💕

Beach, besties, family, sand art, treasure hunts, silly string, bubbles, body paint… and yes, even rain! ☔️😂

Honestly… it turned into a full-on kids version of a wild spring break party and we wouldn’t have had it any other way! 💃🌊

One chapter ends, another begins. Rylin’s off to kindergarten, Hayden to pre-K. Both starting fresh at Christ Lutheran School! They walked in with smiles, no tears… me?
