Another video edited by Piotrek. I hope you enjoy watching it!

The last move was a heart-in-the-mouth, board-style jump to a jug. I fell off the last move on a few attempts which was extremely frustrating, but also useful in a way too. It forced me to confront the last move with a different approach. On my successful send go, I adopted a new mental tactic. Whilst I was shaking out before the jump, I told myself to imagine that this wasn’t a send go. I imagined that I had already fallen off so that I could remove the pressure. I imagined it was just one of those gos where I was practicing the moves. As a result, I didn’t hesitate at all when I set up for the jump. Often I’ve found it’s just a small psychological adjustment that is needed to send a route.

Side note: very glad my heel didn’t slip off when I was clipping the draw at the first roof!

Thank you to my sponsor @grip_type for the support 🫶 taken in EICA Ratho by @roxyclimber

Turkish Airways 8a+ ✅
What a fight for my first outdoor 8a+! Fourth attempt on the last day of the trip! Really had to grit my teeth and get this route sent! Took me five sessions.
Piotrek sent a 6c+ earlier today and the send train was therefore a possibility I couldn't pass up!
More thoughts soon on the route and how it felt to project and send it!
P.S I sent it in socks 😏 taken in Geyikbayırı, Antalya, Turkey by @roxyclimber

Been a bit quiet posting on here the last while, just haven’t really felt like sharing about my climbing or my life too much. Social media can be too much for me sometimes. But I feel like sharing some more photos from Kalymnos so here they are!

 •

Piotrek stroking a cute black cat whilst we had an ice cream and watched the sunset on Myrties beach.

Celebrating after sending Velvet Underground, a verrrry steep 8a in Diagoras cave (Arginonta Valley). Shout out to whoever left the draws in 😘

Think this was a photo after doing Las Gallinas que Entran por las que Salen (what a mouthful), another 8a, at the upper part of Odyssey. I think I will always remember this route for its supreme greasiness 😆

I also really appreciated the surprise
water-filled pocket near the top that nearly had me off

Piotrek after doing Pipe Cleaner, an awesome 7a+ at Zeus. The main part of the route is a mono tufa which has really polished slopey feet, requiring pretty precise foot placements and body tension to stop yourself from flying off

The sunset on Myrties Beach

My favourite cat on the island, the big fluffy ginger with big feet who hangs around the climbers’ cafe

Baby goat, so cute!

Beautiful views from our apartment

Our last day of the trip. I was just hoping that after making it a whole five weeks without injuries that the children’s play park wouldn’t be the spot for us to test the limits of our European health insurance

Think I read four or five books during our trip, was nice not to read 500 page Victorian novels where nothing really happens, or journal articles that make me want to cry, at least for a while

Would love to own a tiny house here!

The magnificent olive tree on the walk up to Diagoras cave.

Waiting for our fish of the day at Kokkinidies

A pretty weird duck! Andy told me the name but I’ve forgotten 🤦‍♀️ taken in Kalymnos by @roxyclimber

Photos from our five week trip to Kalymnos, mostly taken by Piotrek, on a pocket sized camera I’ve had since I was six.

This was my fourth, and Piotrek’s second, trip to Kalymnos. Instead of going in August like I usually do, we went in May/June. It was a little cooler, but still very sweaty!

This time we stayed at the top of the windy road at an apartment called Studio Aeolos. We had two balconies with views of Sympleglades crag and Telendos. There were no ants or cockroaches in this place which made for a nice change! Sometimes we’d cook at home, making things like Greek Salads and chicken in Oyster sauce or Baba Ganoush. We ate out quite a lot too, we love the Capricciosa pizza at La Kambusa, and the fresh fish of the day at Kokkinidies. Oh and the falafel gyros at On The Road (top tip, ask for halloumi with it!). We also loved the omelettes and juices at the Climbers Cafe. It feels like we really know Masouri now and where we like to eat and which shops we have a preference for.

A highlight of the trip was going to Sikati Cave for the first time. It’s was a blisteringly hot walk to get there along a seemingly never ending trail in the full force of the sun, which is why I hadn’t been on previous trips. I love the Petzl Rock Trip video of Chris Sharma and Steve McClure and other pros climbing in the cave, so it felt pretty exciting to see it and climb there for myself. The scale of the place is insane, I definitely felt like I had encountered the Sublime when I stared down from the top. I onsighted “Super Lolita”, a 50m 7c+, which had such insanely bad rope drag near the top that it felt like bicep curling a heavy weight to clip!

I hope you enjoy these photos, I have some more to post soon.

It’s quite surreal to be writing that Piotrek sent his first 8a yesterday! It’s only taken him a couple of weeks to do it. He’s been climbing about two and a half years and it was an honour to watch him execute this route with such technical proficiency yesterday. It had me lost for words! Within the space of a few weeks he’s done his first 7c+ and now an 8a! On a roll 🥳

Very proud! and I am very excited to watch Piotrek’s climbing progress 🥰 by @roxyclimber

Calpe Trip, January 2026 🧗❤️☀️💨
I had a blast on my first trip of 2026!! Thank you Iain and Jules for inviting me 🥰 I loved every minute. Was so much fun to meet up with Rach and Andy for team crag days! And was also great to meet Emily and Ester for a day too! Other highlights included onsighting my first 8a, sending three 8a+s, and exploring some of the epic crags Costa Blanca has to offer. Can’t wait to return to sample some more routes and crags.
1.) Group photo with Iain, Jules, Rach and Andy
2.) Rincon Bello - my fave crag of the trip.
3.) Jackets were needed, it wasn’t as warm as it looked. The penon is in the background 🐧
4.) I enjoyed the view when I did some pull ups here
5.) Jules at Aixorta
6.)The cathedral in Altea. I had a lovely day out with Jules and her mum Maureen
7.) Millena was the most bitter crag I’ve been to in a while 🥶felt as bad as standing on the “Sufferance” ledge at Dumbarton whilst the wind is funneled towards you into that corner
8.) Iain at a brilliant new crag we checked out
9.) I enjoyed walks on the beach
10.) Garx crag (Cherries 🍒)
11.) a view from a fun crag recce rest day with Iain.
12.)Calpe old town
13.) a very quiet Calpe beach
14.) Altea, quite a posh place!
15.) A bustling cafe in the square in the old town of Altea
16.)Rincon Bello
17.) A few days of harsh rain meant we had a training day at the wall in Alicante, aptly named “The Indoor Wall” 😆
18.) The nicest street lamp I’ve ever seen
19.) Altea cathedral taken in Calpe - Costa Blanca, Spain by @roxyclimber

I had a really enjoyable last day in Costa Blanca at Rincon Bello with Iain, Jules, Rach and Andy. Here are some photos taken by Jules.
I’m going to write a bigger end of trip post soon as I feel too tired for writing right now! But I’ve really loved this trip, it’s been one of my favourites! The company and climbing has been the best ❤️ taken in Rincon Bello by @roxyclimber

Lactosis 8a+ ✅3rd go.
This is my favourite route so far of my trip to Costa Blanca. Here’s a video of the hardest section of the route. The crux was based around a small tufa pinch, followed by very small crimps, and a weird undercling finger lock move with my right index finger which hurt less than it sounds 😂 my friend Andy was on a route next to me and as he watched me do the crux he asked “Roxy are you sure that’s the move?”

It was quite cold today but there was a lack of wind so it was no where near as bitterly cold as our experience at Millena a few days ago! I did still climb the route with pretty numb fingers, which was probably an advantage for the small pockets and crimps! It was a send train sorta day with Jules sending Lágrimas Negras and Rachel sending Santi Deluxe. Rincon Bello is a ridiculously cool crag. My jaw dropped on the approach as the immensity of the wall came into view. Quite an intimidating but inspiring venue. I think the word sublime describes it well.

Great crag vibes as always with the team ❤️
