I grew up watching Cristiano Ronaldo.

And I don’t think people my age will ever fully understand what that meant until we look back years from now.

Whether you loved him, hated him, supported another player, or never even cared about football … You were affected by him. You watched him. You talked about him. You tried to imitate him. You celebrated his goals, argued about him, and watched him turn impossible moments into something normal.

For my generation, Ronaldo wasn’t just a footballer. He was part of growing up.

We got to witness the work, the obsession, the goals, the records, the comebacks, the celebrations, the heartbreaks … and somehow, after all these years, we’re watching the end of an era with Portugal too.

One day, I’ll tell people that I got to grow up watching Cristiano Ronaldo play for Portugal.

And that alone will always be something I’m grateful for.

Thank you, Cristiano. 🇵🇹❤️
