We're out of this world 🛸 👽

Alien was the theme for this round of #KAtticuscollabs and as soon as I saw the color scheme, I knew I had to whip out my bottle of @drknails Happy 2025 which is one of my favorite magnetic polishes. I dressed it up with some silver nail art stickers 👽

Thank you @freedomofmasculinity & @atticus_loves_lacquer for hosting another round of this spooktackular collab 👽

Y'know Sam is busy when she forgets to post a nailfie Sunday update 😅 those are my favorite posts 😆 I can't complain at all since I'm busy for good things. I'm going on a quick road trip later this week for a music festival and a merch event plus my mom is visiting from out of town. I picked up some extra shifts for more spending money and I've been going to zumba class - even on days when I don't want to 😅

Regardless I'm happy 😊 my boss asked me in a recent check-in meeting if I was happy... I'm pretty sure he meant at work lol but I told him that I live a pretty good life.

As proof, I lamented not getting a bottle of @hauntedpolish Apparition in its first spawn at PPU nor in the Rewind, and somehow, my best friend gifted me a bottle of it ✨️✨️✨️

This polish is so pretty that I had to pair it with a pretty ring as well from @bisoulovely

Happy Happy birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 @justhere4thenails

Thank you for being one of my messaging buddies! And for liking horror as much as me 😗 I was so delighted to hear that one of the prompts for your birthday mani was Killer Klowns. It's such a kooky film and for a while, I thought it was pretty niche. Maybe it's popular or maybe we just have good tastes in movies 😉 I hope that you not only have a fantastic birthday but also a great year ahead of you ✨️✨️✨️

Thank you @kaileirr_nails & @opossum_claw for getting all of us together to celebrate 🥳

Carrie Red 🩸

Or my unofficial review of Mike Flanagan's take on a modern Carrie that highlights the horror of social media bullying 🩸 it's super ironic because the bully uses Instagram to create her "Carrie Red" account 😅

Polish is @unomascolors Crimson Shadow 🩸🖤

Admittedly, I never read Stephen King's original novel but I love Brian De Palma's 1976 film. There's an interview with King, when the mini series was pitched to him, where he basically said, "leave Carrie alone." I tend to agree since the first film did a great job portraying Carrie as a victim of both her mom and her peers who loses control 1 night 👏🏾 I only tuned into the mini series when I saw that Mike Flanagan was at the helm. I was confident that he'd do Carrie justice given how character driven Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass were... so my thoughts on the miniseries... it's OK. A solid 7/10 😅

I really wanted to love it more than I did but there's some outlandish things that really tested my suspension of disbelief (mostly at the school).
I enjoyed how Mike Flanagan fleshed out Chris Hargensen - Carrie's bully. She's also a lonely girl with neglectful parents instead of a stereotypical school bully. He gives Chris plenty of reasons to personally hate Carrie. Her plight also highlights the theme that hate breeds more hate.
I also liked the changes in Tommy's arc and how he ends up asking Carrie to the prom. Their friendship is bittersweet given how it ends 💔

What I didn't like are Margaret White and to a lesser extent Carrie White 🫣🤫 Margaret White is Carrie's biggest abuser yet there are times in the miniseries where I'm actively rooting for her 😅 I also don't buy into her religious fanaticism. Ironically enough, I have a coworker who is into government conspiracies and speaks about people being light and dark seeds so seeing that play out in the miniseries doesn't hit as hard as it should. It felt like having Margaret say 1 or 2 lines about that was sufficient enough 🙄
Also, spoiler alert, Margaret picked up on technology far too quickly for a newbie 😅

As for Carrie, Summer Howell's portrayal is great! I by @royainails

Happy it's the month of Halloween 🎃

Not going to lie but it feels like I'm falling behind 😅 everyone seems well prepared with either Halloween or horror manis and I'm over here with simply sparkly nails 🫣 I couldn't let that continue so I added some handy dandy nail art stickers onto my base of @holotaco All I do is Sin 🎰

Hope everyone is having a fantastic October and perhaps I might have more spooky manis to share later this month 🔮 we shall see 👀

Happy Flex Friday 💪🏾

I ran out of things to talk about so Imma ramble on my fitness journey. It's been 1 month since I signed up for a gym membership and got a personal trainer. Long story short, I joined a gym so I can attend zumba classes but then I got duped into singing up for a 3-month commitment with a personal trainer 🫥 Honestly I'd be more upset about the latter if only my PT wasn't so nice and effective. He knows how to work me hard but also is understanding that I need to eat a sweet treat every so often. On our first meeting, I told him that my goal was to fit into a pair of pants that I bought last year. We needed to make this goal more tangible so we made the goal be - lose 30 pounds in 3 months. Suffice to say that I won't make that goal 🫣 however, I lost 2 pounds and gained muscle mass 💪🏾 without having to completely change my eating habits 😏 Maybe if I cut the carbs and ate more protein, I would have lost more weight 😅 but I digress. I'm really happy where I am now.

It's going to suck once the 3-month ends 😅 Ideally I'd continue the PT sessions past the 3 months but it's way too expensive. It's probably the reason why I haven't been buying nail polish and nail art supplies as often LOLOLOL
Phoenix's FBI's most unwanted was probably the last polish purchase I made back in July. I love the X-Files and I couldn't resist a blue polish with an amazing shimmer like this 🤤

Happy Wingy Wednesday 🦇 (I'm making up days at this point lol)

I have a folder saved of inspo images and several of the Halloween ones featured liner designs- bat wings, Frankenstein, etc. I'm much more of an eyeshadow and wing liner girlie; however, it's spooky season and we only live once so I figured I'd take a (metaphorical) stab at drawing a bat liner 🦇 then I quickly realized that my liner skills need some serious work. I used a pen tip liner then switched to liquid liner when I needed help with those curved lines. I definitely need some practice 😩 on the brightside, I loved the bat mani 🦇 I used @arcanalacquer Unique Horn and added some bat glitters on top 🦇 you can see some of that transition goodness in the other pics in the carousel 🦇
