📖 Book 6: Called Out To Serve by @folashadegideon

A lot of the lessons in this book really touched me. ❤️

One of the biggest reminders for me was that we are not living for ourselves alone. There is an assignment attached to our lives, and serving others is a huge part of it.

My key takeaways:
✨ God doesn’t call the perfect. Wherever you are and whatever season you’re in, there is an assignment for you.

🤝 The greatest joy we experience often comes from helping someone else. There’s something deeply fulfilling about being l a blessing to another person.

❤️ Being a blessing isn’t always about how you feel in the moment. Sometimes, it’s simply about being obedient and doing what you have been called to do.
Joseph is such a great example. He didn’t have to interpret dreams for those prisoners as a prisoner. But he used what he had, right where he was, and that became part of the journey to his purpose.

This book was a beautiful reminder that service isn’t just something we do; it is part of why we are here.

So… engage me, what has God placed in your hands that you can use to serve someone else? 👀

📖 Book 5: Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

This book really challenges the way we think about money, work, and financial freedom.
Learning and observing two different perspectives on money and opportunities. Same world, different backgrounds, completely different mindsets.

My key takeaways:
- Financial education is important. I don’t think we learn early enough about money, especially in schools.

- Don’t just work for money, learn how to make money work for you. High income doesn’t guarantee having enough until you learn to make it work for you.

- Assets put money in your pocket, liabilities take money out. Wealth is attainable when your assets can cover your liabilities, translate into your income and conveniently cover your expenses.

- In building wealth, start by apportioning your income. Don’t be scared to take risks, especially in asset acquisition.

- Mindset plays a huge role in wealth creation. Shocker.

- Building wealth is a long term game.

📖 Book 4: The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Forty-something days later 😂📚
This 40-day devotional is… a lot (in the best way).
It really makes you pause and ask the big questions:
“What was I created for?”
“What is the purpose of life?”
A powerful reminder that life isn’t just about chasing goals or success — it’s about living with purpose… but also discovering what that purpose truly is.

My key takeaways:
✨ Life is not just about you, it’s about God’s plan through you
🙏🏽 The creation must give the Creator pleasure… anything outside that is a miss
🤝 Don’t underestimate the power of community, such a life hack
🛠️ We were created for service, to God and to people

One of my favorite lyric that hits me every time:
“This is the reason why I live, to worship You. I am privileged to honor you…”

This was actually a compulsory read for workers in my church, and even though it wasn’t my first time, it felt completely new.
Honestly? I think every believer should read this at least once a year. Life gets busy, and this helps realign your perspective.

On a different note, we lost Rocky yesterday. 😢
We never wanted a dog, but the day my dad brought her home (last slide), we all fell in love with the beautiful 6 weeks old Rott. Can’t believe a dog made me cry.

So there’s really no after life for animals….hmm🙃

📖 Book 3: Love Code by @pst_iren

I don’t usually like to speak on love, especially romantic relationships and marriage… but many things in this book really got me thinking.

For me, beyond the feelings and butterflies, love is responsibility.
And honestly, a lot of the brokenness we see in society today can be traced back to broken homes and marriages.

My key takeaways:
❤️ Be sure you’re going into it for the right reasons
🧠 KYP: Know Your Partner (deeply, not just on the surface)
🙏🏽 Choose to do it God’s way; He designed it, so He knows best
🧩 Understand your attachment style and intentionally work on it
🛠️ Broken things can be repaired, if both people are willing to do the work.
✨ There are genuinely good marriages out there, and yours can be one of them. Intentionally choose to look at the good ones. (This one is more for me) 😂

A very reflective read for me…

📖 Book 2: The Richest Man in Babylon

Such an intriguing read! It breaks down timeless financial wisdom in the simplest way — proof that good money habits never go out of style. And it was also written in old English style, felt like I was reading KJV. 😂

My key takeaways:
💰 Pay yourself first — don’t spend everything you earn. Save CONSISTENTLY.
📈 Make your money work for you by investing wisely.
🗓️ Be intentional about planning for your future.

Very simple principles, but incredibly powerful when you start applying them.

I’ve committed myself to reading at least 12 books this year — so please, hold me accountable 🥹📚
I’ll be sharing my experiences along the way and the lessons I pick up on this journey. So help me God 🙏🏽😅

📖 Book 1 of the year: The Rules of Work by Richard Templar
(Yes… I started it last year 🤫 but we move 😌)
This book is such a solid guide, especially for corporate professionals.
It covers everything from:
• appearance
• office politics
• workplace relationships
• and what the author calls “being a game player”

I enjoyed reading it, and if you’re looking to level up at work, I’d totally recommend it 👍🏽
