🏡 Daar is ie dan eindelijk: dé post. Ik vond het moeilijk, ik vond de tijd niet, ik vond mezelf eventjes niet - en toen deed ik het. In een kleine minuut zien jullie honderden uren aan bloed, zweet, tranen... (en een hoop verloren sieraden tijdens de verhuizing) met de nodige dosis vriendschap, liefde en warmte.
Ik heb mijn eigen winkel. Het dringt nog niet helemaal door, maar het is er. Moeder en kind maken het (naar omstandigheden) goed; bewonderen mag op afspraak aan de Voorstraat 330, Dordrecht.

💕 Mijn onvoorwaardelijke liefde gaat uit naar iedereen die me heeft geholpen bij het bouwen van mijn allerfijnste, veiligste plek ooit. Zonder jullie had ik het echt niet gekund en was NOVEMBER er niet. De main crew, firma Pico Bello, Laurence en Lars, JP (mijn ultieme partner in crime), Nate voor echt alles, Caitlin voor het geloven in me, alle buren die me spullen leenden, Taria de Neushoorn, Kevin, Daan (en de therapiemuur), de vrijdagochtendgroep, de vuilnisman die elke woensdag het papier ophaalt, en natuurlijk mijn Amy (@hetgoudenschaap.studio), waar ik heb mogen bloeien en uit mijn voegen heb mogen groeien.
En de meeste dank gaat uiteraard uit naar jullie; jullie zijn NOVEMBER en hebben allemaal een plekje in mijn hart.

🏡 Recapping is hard, but... my own boutique has arrived. It’s imperfect and pink and whimsical and fluffy much like myself, and truly feels more like home than any place I have ever known. Hundreds of hours of blood, sweat, tears, love and friendship were poured into this little building, and what I ended up with is more meaningful than anything I could have ever imagined. Find me in the center of historical Dordrecht, at Voorstraat 330.

💕 My eternal gratitude goes out to all of the beautiful people who have turned my very abstract ideas into a tangible reality. I love you all so, so much. 📈 Uit de vorige vacature bleek het al: NOVEMBER groeit. Buitenproportioneel veel. En dat is fantastisch, spannend, uitdagend, druk, maar bovenal het grootste compliment ooit. Ik dacht dat mijn vaste 4 bezoekers ooit een keer gepiercet zouden worden en ik daarna wel klaar zou zijn, maar zo veel jaren later blijkt gelukkig het tegenovergestelde waar te zijn - jullie krijgen geen genoeg van ons. En wij niet van jullie.

🌞 Ik ben op zoek naar iemand die het groeiende NOVEMBER-team komt versterken als piercer. Of je nu een junior piercer bent of een doorgewinterde professional: je bent ontzettend welkom, als je maar bij “ons” past. Bij mij, Ava, bij mijn team en bij de bezoekers: we zoeken iemand die warm, open en benaderbaar is. Iemand die onze visie van veilig piercen in de breedste zin van het woord deelt, iemand die niet wil werken in een “piercingfabriekje”, iemand die niet op z’n teentjes is getrapt als ik zeg dat ik je graag iets bij zou willen leren. Iemand van wie ik elke dag weer kan leren. En het liefst iemand die met open mond voor de sieradenkasten staat te glunderen, elke dag weer.

💸 Uren en dagen zijn bespreekbaar. Wil je 2, 3 of 5 dagen per week piercen? Laat het vooral weten! Je zult werken binnen onze openingstijden, en salaris is afhankelijk van je ervaring en expertise. De harde vereisten: je spreekt en schrijft vlekkeloos Nederlands en Engels, bent de menselijke versie van een zonnestraaltje en hebt ervaring in het vak. Of dat nou met een slecht apprenticeship of een botched cursus is of niet: we gaan je helpen om op niveau te komen. Dit is géén positie voor een apprentice: momenteel ben ik niet in de gelegenheid om iemand met 0 kennis op te leiden.

Over at NOVEMBER, we like doing things a little differently. That means it’s never run like a factory, but more like a private ceremony. It means we always want to know who designed the piece you picked out, who set the stone and who did the polishing. And it means a deep, unwavering respect for the artists who tirelessly work at making this magic come to life, especially if they’re small makers.

Our shelves are filled to the brim with one-of-a-kind pieces, rare collectibles and small-scale projects. Each piece is seen as perfectly fitting you as an individual, as a celebration, and as an investment (gold!). And there are very few people more unique than @pupil.hall : often imitated, never duplicated. Being able to display these works of art is an honor, and wearing them is even more fun.

✨ Als jij ook niet kunt kiezen tussen geelgoud of witgoud, dan ben je in héél erg goed gezelschap. Hier zie je het oor van Y.: maximaliste extraordinaire, met oren die al de hele wereld hebben gezien.

🤍 We zijn ontzettend trots op deze collectie (waarvan het grootste gedeelte @pupil.hall is), maar ook op het feit dat Y. ons vertrouwde met haar adembenemende collectie sieraden. Naast Ava (@royalgoldnl) en Joan (@miss_scarrific) hebben heel veel van onze vrienden van over de hele wereld meegewerkt aan deze visie, onder andere bij @flordeoro.piercing en @pinpointpiercing! taken in Dordrecht by @royalgoldnl

🦻Geen kraakbeenpiercings? Geen probleem.

Soms is het er gewoon nog niet van gekomen, vind je het een beetje spannend of is er een anatomische reden waarom een kraakbeenpiercing en jouw oor nog niet de ideale match zijn. Of misschien ga je reizen, naar de sauna of heb je eventjes geen zin in de genezing van iets nieuws, en wil je alleen nieuwe sieraden in plaats van een nieuw gaatje.

En ook dan gaan we stylen. Vroeger bij een juwelier geschoten of door een professionele piercer met een naald gezet; we maken er een kunstwerkje van.

💐If I had to describe E’s style, I would say “unpredictable”, “soft”, “playful” and above everything else: “completely her own”.
When we started her ear piercing journey, we started with one piece she gravitated towards the most, and decided to let everything flow from there. And what a piece it was.

🌙Her line up of potential pieces consisted of truly one-of-kind works of art, and she kept being drawn to this beautiful number with pink sapphire and moonstone: it hadn’t even made it to my displays yet. Found in my suitcase, sourced a few days before in Berlin, absolutely destined to grace her ear.

⛪️ Not only will I always cherish this moment together, but I’ll never forget her husband’s first reaction. “It reminds me of a church. Your own little holy place”.

✨ My beautiful friend G. let me pierce her ear cartilage for the very first time, with a clear goal in mind; it needs to look like “jewelry”, like classic and timeless artworks that don’t overpower her own personal style.

We managed to do just that, adding elegant touches to the ear while being careful not to overcrowd it. The result is a well-balanced suite with a new lobe and flat piercing. The earrings in the first lobe are her own 🤍

After an overwhelming amount of messages, I decided to share this beautiful suite that I’ve had the pleasure of working on for the past few years. Because I need to do something about my giant back log of photos, and especially because it’s way too good not to be seen 🥰

Pictured here is S in a truly collaborative project. Both of us come up with ideas, we melt them together and then, starry-eyed and open-minded, start scanning through the jewelry selection and the archive. And whatever we come up with always turns out much better than we could have ever planned.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall…
Who has the most beautiful daith piercing of them all?

If you’re wearing a custom BVLA-ring made especially for you, then you’re probably able to raise your hand and gloat 😌💕

Pictured here is a custom ring for E., in a daith I pierced for her roughly 5 years ago. We started with titanium, waited until we were sure which gemstones would work best with her own personal style and then made this dream piece happen!
The center is a genuine AAA white opal, hugged by two beautiful, soft light AA amethysts from the artisans at @bvla.

If you were waiting for S’ other lobe; look no further. She decided to get her first lobes re-done by me in her 20s, and of course opted for something that she would fall madly in love with on a daily basis. Something that matched the piece on the other side but wasn’t the exact same… “balance, not symmetry”.

And this beautiful purple sapphire did just that.
And no, I don’t do starter jewelry (or “zweerknopjes” in Dutch); I’ll pierce you with your dream piece, always made of the highest quality material you can find on earth.

One of the most often-asked questions I hear at @novemberpiercing is always a polite and slightly hesitant one; “this might be a weird question, but do you also pierce lobes?”. And the answer will always be yes. A thousand times yes.

In 2026, many people still tell me that they will just get their first, second and third lobes done with a gun, “but definitely nothing beyond that because that’s not good for you”. And I’m here to debunk that myth; nothing done with a gun is good and safe, and no one who offers that service knows what they’re actually doing.

Besides, why even think about guns when you can treat yourself to a luxury experience with the most beautiful jewelry you’ll cherish for the rest of your life? 😏

And on a non-piercing-related-note: over-salting everything (Maldon always), knowing every word to a 2Live Crew song, showering at a minimum temp of 45 degrees Celsius just to feel something and (foot)massages.
