I did not prune it or anything this season and the aphids keep trying to take it out but it recovered!! I literally threw a leftover handful of @turfbeard Flourish fertilizer in it a few weeks ago and haven’t been diligent in watering it. I guess this is mother natures way of of giving me one last garden win for the season😍. I’ll take it! THANK YOU by @royalgoldsoils

It’s always a smart move to pair a fast crop with a slow one. 🌱

The fast one: radishes. French Breakfast radishes can be ready to pull in about four weeks. Daikon takes closer to two months. If you want to see something happen this fall, start here.

The slow one: parsnips. Parsnips are a cousin of the carrot. They're pale and a little nutty, and they're sweeter than most people expect. They're also tough. Sow them in fall, and they sit in the ground through the cold months while you mostly forget about them. You won't harvest until early spring. The wait pays off: cold weather turns the starch in the roots into sugar. Dig them before the tops start growing again in spring, or the roots turn woody.

One tip: parsnip seed is slow to sprout and can take up to three weeks. Keep the bed moist the whole time.

Easy as that. 🌱

Pick the seeds, fill the pot, sow at the depth on the packet, label it, water, wait. Fall makes it easier with cooler air and softer light mean nothing dries out by noon.

The easist part, starting in started in our Potting Mix & Propagation. Coco fiber, aged forest products and perlite keep it airy so roots get oxygen, with enough moisture retention to carry a seedling through its first weeks. The mild charge feeds them early, so there's nothing to mix and nothing to fertilize right away.
