#thequeenisdead Condolences💐 but also as the ruler of a bloodthirsty & greedy empire, the culture of silence and ignorance Lizzie was indoctrinated into makes.her.forever.complicit to the ongoing genocide, resource extraction, wealth hoarding and land theft project of the British Empire. Canada being in the monarchy is an active choice our government is making that is not at all necessary for a functioning democracy. Hope this lights up conversations about community governance, and to learn about what sovereignty means, the process of rewriting the constitution, and to dream and put into practice how #landback for indigenous nations works within that. by @royaltravesty

As the PNW is dealing with severe rain, a reminder that the absolute clear cutting of large sections of forests (especially the grand old growths that provide stability to the earth) leads to biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse, soil erosion, landslides, and the disruption of roads, water ways, and infrastructure. Take care out there folks! The solutions to prevent this have been proposed but will continue to need public pressure to apply the paradigm shifts needed for policy reforms; such as partial/variable cutting and indigenous leadership in management and oversight.*a link to the old growth review that was done years ago is in my linktree. It can’t be implemented without public advocacy**indigenous leadership means more than elected systems of leadership; it includes hereditary leaders, knowledge keepers & elders. It also means allies & accomplices supporting them in this***also, With the majority of old growth already gone, we need to stabilize whatever we’ve been left with.
