Finally posting about one of the albums I was most looking forward to in 2026 and one I've been listening to a lot over the past few months: Evanescence newest album, "Sanctuary"

And what a wonderful surprise this album was! For me, it’s one of the best Evanescence albums since "The Open Door". Many excellent songs like "Sanctuary", "Beautiful Lie", "Rapture", " How Do I Heal" (who carries an atmosphere reminiscent of the "Fallen" era, which made me really happy! 😁).

And there's one song I really need to highlight: "Self Destruct". This song combined the sound and heaviness of Modern Metal with Evanescence's distinctive, dramatic elements and Amy Lee's perfect vocals, making it—at least for me—the best track on "Sanctuary", one of the best songs in Evanescence's entire discography, and one of the best songs I heard in 2026. 🤩 Seriously... anyone who hasn't listened to it yet needs to hear the whole song. A true Masterpiece!

And you? What did you think of the "Sanctuary"? What are your favorite songs? Let me know in the comments. 😁🤘🏻

Still on the subject of "The Open Door", in this post I’m sharing the cover art for the singles I have in my collection:

▫️Call Me When You're Sober [European Maxi-Single]
▫️Call Me When You're Sober [US Promo]
▫️Call Me When You're Sober [Mexican Promo]
▫️Lithium [Digital and Maxi-Single]
▫️Lithium [Standard Single]
▫️Lithium [US Promo]
▫️Sweet Sacrifice [Digital and Maxi Single]
▫️Sweet Sacrifice [European Edition]
▫️Sweet Sacrifice [US Promo]
▫️Good Enough [International Maxi-Single] (Not released)
▫️Good Enough [Standard Edition] (Not Released)
▫️Good Enough [US Alternative Promo]
▫️Together Again [Digital Edition]

To me, songs like "Lacrymosa" and "The Only One" should have been released as singles, too. That would have been great back then!

Which of these singles is your favorite, and which ones do you have in your music collection? Let me know in the comments. 🤘🏻😁

20 Years of "The Open Door"!

The second album of Evanescence. I have vivid memories of that period in 2006 when I eagerly followed the news, rumors, and leaked snippets of songs from "The Open Door". It was a time when I frequently visited Evanescence fan sites, looking for updates almost every week. Good times... 😁

It had been quite a while since I listened to this album in its entirety, so I took the opportunity—while organizing my physical and digital music collection and marking its 20th anniversary—to listen to it again. "The Open Door" still sounds fantastic, and features several moments I consider even better than the highly adored "Fallen"! Songs like "Lithium," "Lacrymosa," and "Your Star" are absolutely spectacular! "The Only One" is still one of my favorites in Evanescence's discography, and "All That I'm Living For," "Weight Of The World", "Cloud Nine", and "Lose Control" seem to get even better after all this time without listening to them. (Seriously... how could I have gone so long without listening to them again? Shame on me! 😅).

"The Open Door" is, for me, one of the best albums in Evanescence's discography, and I'll definitely be listening to their music a lot more in the coming months.

In this post, you can see photos of my Brazilian Digipak Edition, which I received as a birthday gift in 2006. It has held up well over all this time, despite a few marks from back when I didn't store it quite as carefully 😅. It’s from one of the initial print runs released here in Brazil (AA30000), and I already consider it a prized treasure in my physical collection.

And to conclude the post... what are your favorite songs from "The Open Door"? Let me know in the comments! 😁🤘🏻

One more post about Tarja's latest album, the excellent "Frisson Noir". This time, sharing three pieces of original artwork used in the album booklet.

The names of these paintings, according to the Tarja's official website, are "Black Wolf", "Black Lion" and "Black Fish" and were painted by the talented artist Katariina Souri.

I loved the cosmic, nocturnal look of these paintings!😍 Which one is your favorite? 😁🤘🏻

The cover art for the three singles released so far to promote the album "Frisson Noir" of Tarja:

▫️"At Sea" [Feat. Mervi Myllyoja and Niklas Pokki]
▫️"I Don't Care" [Feat. Dani Filth]
▫️"The Trace Outlives" [Feat. Sayo Komada]

I really loved this painting style and the darker, more nocturnal colors used for the covers. And the lettering style—looking like fragments of light—was the perfect combination! 😍

Which is your favorite cover art? And which of the three singles released so far is your favorite? Let me know in the comments. 😁🤘🏻

Finally listening to one of the albums I was most looking forward to in 2027: Tarja's newest Metal album, "Frisson Noir."

And what a wonderful surprise! For me, this is already one of Tarja's best metal albums, as it features a heavier, more cinematic, and epic sound!

Another thing I really enjoyed was the various songs featuring guest artists—ranging from singing with Marco Hietala again (evoking one of Nightwish's most memorable era) to collaborations I’d always dreamed of seeing, such as those with Apocalyptica and Dani Filth (Cradle Of Filth).

All the songs have their own unique characteristics and get better every time you listen to them again. You need to listen to this whole album! 😁🤘🏻

My biggest addiction these past few months! After a long wait, I'm finally playing one of the racing games I wanted most: The Crew Motorfest.

One of the things I loved most about The Crew 2 was the huge variety of motorized vehicles in the game (cars, motorcycles, race cars, rally cars, boats, planes). It’s one of the unique features they kept in Motorfest, and that made me really happy. Collecting and driving such an insane number of different vehicles is just awesome. 🤩

And in a racing game of this scale, the map is extremely important for the game to be fun—and, in my opinion, they chose the perfect location: Hawaii. The first giant open-world racing map I ever played was set in Hawaii (who out there remembers the wonderful Test Drive Unlimited*? I love that game! 😍). The Hawaii map in Motorfest isn't as big as in TC2 and TDU, but it's beautiful, detailed, full of personality, and super fun to play.

Another detail that was excellent for me is that Motorfest now supports cross-platform saves. So, I’m able to play it on both my PS4 and Steam Deck. Every game should have this feature.

I'm really happy to finally have this spetacular game in my collection, and for anyone who likes racing games... I highly recommend buying Motorfest and starting to play it as soon as possible! 😁✌🏻

10 Years of "The Jaguar Priest" in 2026. The debut album of Universal Mind Project (@universalmindproject)

I still have the autographed CD Jewelcase edition and the button, from when I participated in the Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign 10 years ago, carefully preserved in my music collection. 😁

I absolutely love this album! It’s a Progressive Power Metal with a perfect sound, both vocally and instrumentally. It has been in my collection for a long time, and I still listen to it quite often—both the CD and the digital version.

I love all your work on "The Jaguar Priest", @michael_ump .I’ll definitely never stop listening to it, and I’m eagerly looking forward to more music in the near future! 😆🤘🏻

30 Years of Nightwish today! 😃

One of the most special bands for me! If I love music and Symphonic Metal today, it’s because of the massive impact Nightwish’s music has had on my life since the very first time I heard it! 🥰

May many more years and great songs come from that wonderful treasure trove of music and adventure that is Nightwish! 😁🤘🏻
