Ah Gong, I hope your cat Ah Ngiaow is waiting at the foot of the bridge to welcome you and bring you over, ask him to bring you to find Ah Ma again after so many years apart. Go for that fishing trip you’ve always dreamt about, go find Lau Zek and tease him like you always do. Say hi to all of them for us and send them our love. Don’t look back, don’t worry about us, we will look after each other well. Thank you for looking after us from when we were wee little babies to the grown ups we are today, we will do the same and look after your great grandson for you.

Today, my Ah Gong gained his forever freedom.
Thank you for teaching us to enjoy life fully and not take everything so seriously. Even in your final moments, you took it so smoothly and chill, just like you always lived.
Thank you for all the laughter, your witty humour, and the stories we’ll carry with us always. I love you Ah Gong! You will be deeply missed 🤍

A year ago today, we lost you. It may have been only a year in real time but it feels like an eternity without you. It hasn’t been easy since. I miss the boop-boops and the asking for pet-pets every night. I miss having someone to hug and love, someone who can take away my stress and worries no matter how bad the day was. I miss you.
