Twelve years ago, I was assigned a high school student to mentor as part of my work. Over the years, even as my work has changed, those big sister duties have never let up! Last night was a testament to perseverance, to getting back up and trying again, to not allowing any one thing to define you. You have endured so many difficulties to get this degree- so much harder as a single mom! I congratulate you on this momentous achievement and will continue to cheer you on. by @royourboat9

You are happy. You are healthy. You make me smile and laugh everyday. You are smart, kind, goofy and so many things that make you uniquely you, and today you are 10! I'm so proud of you both. You are fierce individuals, yet I see the way you're so supportive of each other and have each other's back. It gives me such confidence in your future. Love you more and more each day ♥️♥️ by @royourboat9

This much I know: if we're slowing down and exploring the outdoors as often as possible, in touch with the magic of nature and fresh air, we'll be at our most grounded, most peaceful, best selves.
