After all the pomp and ceremony befitting of such an occasion, it is a quiet and peaceful morning at the IAFF Fallen Firefighters Memorial.

As our Honour Guard members, along with firefighters from across the continent make their way home today, we thank @local5iaff Colorado Springs Firefighters for hosting us in their city, and looking after the memorial on our behalf, all year long. taken in Memorial Park- IAFF Firefighter Memorial by @rpffa_hg

This morning at 0800, Honour Guard members joined the on shift crew at Fire Station #6, Chief Jackson, DC Hewitt and DC McCullough for a small ceremony, the playing of Amazing Grace, and a moment of silence to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Thousands of lives were lost that day including 343 Firefighters.

Today, we honour their memory.

Our Honour Guard members have been outfitted with new parade boots.

We like to acknowledge Steven Frulling and his team at Trend Marketing for offering the boots at cost, and Regina Fire management for covering that cost.

Our HG volunteer their time for the events we attend and we operate within a limited budget. So contributions such as this, allow us to do even more.

It was an honour to represent Regina Fire at the State Funeral for the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield today.

A proud daughter of Saskatchewan, Vaughn devoted herself wholeheartedly to the service of her province and country. She was Saskatchewan’s 21st Lieutenant governor.

Born & raised in Regina. She was a huge supporter of the military and first responders.
