Big news from @OpenAI - not only are they launching GPT 5.6 Sol, but they are merging Codex into the ChatGPT desktop app.On desktop, there are now three ways to use ChatGPT: Quick Chat, Codex… and the newly introduced, ChatGPT Work.Quick chat is the ChatGPT experience you’re already familiar with, just now in a sidecar. I found this experience very useful as I no longer had to switch tabs back and forth during a work session.Codex is still there for developers, and improved greatly with the new underlying models.And Work is a new agent that can take action across your apps and files, stay with a project for hours (and hours and hours) if needed, and turn a goal into finished work.Let’s talk about GPT 5.6. I’ve had early access to it, and it is extremely powerful (and ~half the price of Fable)To me, it is superior to any model out there in two key areas:Writing: it is an incredible collaborator for producing content scripts, marketing emails, etc. It writes very clearly and cleverly, without any of the odd syntax and language we’re used to from past AI models.UI Design: it seems to have a real design “intuition.” It makes surprisingly good choices in hierarchy, composition, motion etc that I haven’t yet seen in another model.Have you had a chance to try it? Some conversations change the way you see what’s possible. I had the honor to sit down with Demis Hassabis to chat about Google I/O, his AGI timelines, and his efforts to cure all disease.We also touched on the tension that exists between the two sides of Demis: humanitarian scientist and CEO of a massive commercial entity. How does he balance the two?Then we went into his thoughts on mission and sacrifice.I found it deeply inspirational and touching.This is a man who has dedicated his life to one singular, audacious idea that intelligence itself is a solvable problem, and that solving it unlocks everything else.It’s the idea that cancer, Alzheimer’s, antibiotic resistance… these aren’t inevitable parts of life.They’re unsolved problems. We live in very exciting times and @perplexity Computer is setting the stage. 2026 is an incredible year for creators and entrepreneurs. Agents have become extremely useful, and it’s very rewarding connecting with small business owners to show them how AI can benefit their business.Toby “Tigerheart” Grear is a professional MMA fighter who runs a martial arts school here in North Carolina. We used @perplexity to completely overhaul his website which will help him unlock online classes, streamline all customer relationship management and turbocharge his marketing outreach.I love Perplexity because it orchestrates the top models from the frontier labs, deploying sub-agents to complete a task. A$AP ROCKY’s new video for HELICOPTER has some of the craziest visuals you’ve ever seen. And no, it’s not AI.It’s 4D volumetric capture surrounded with 3D animation.It’s a technique called gaussian splatting.The production capture team, @evercoast, captured about 10 terabytes of raw data, rendering roughly 30 minutes of final splatted footage.That data was then brought into Houdini, where GSOPs (Gaussian Splatting Operators – @gsops.project) were used in combination with OTOY OctaneRender to create the final result.A message from the director of the music video @dan.streit who spent 5 months in post-production with the team:“I think it’s important that Rocky led with shutting down AI accusations because it’s too easy to call anything that’s remotely experimental or animated as AI nowadays. He and I both geek out over craft and want people to know that not only can you create great work without it, but audiences should empathize more with artists who slave away at their craft before assuming a computer made it all by itself.”4D gaussian splatting is the future.Amazing work by this crew.
