When her eyes met mine, the jungle stood still !!🐯 In the heart of the deep jungle, right in the middle of the safari track, one unforgettable moment — an eye-to-eye encounter with the Queen Tigress of Panna Tiger Reserve. 🌿🔥 No words. No fear. Just pure wilderness and a gaze I’ll never forget. ❤️🐅 Shot on @sonyalpha @sonyalphain #QueenOfPanna #PannaTigerReserve #EyeToEye #Tigress #TigerPhotography by @rpomre

She had a whole road to choose from. She picked the narrowest gap. Meet P151 of Panna, the tigress the guides call Manchali: the one who does exactly as she pleases. Our first morning, she gave me seconds. She came running past, probably towards a cub, so close that all I got was a frame full of face. I spent the rest of the day wondering if I’d get another chance. The next morning, word came: she’s sitting out in the open, and every jeep in the zone is already there. My guide asked if I wanted to risk the crowd. I said let’s go. If she’s in the grass and not on the road, we’ll have our view. She was in the grass. A line of jeeps along the track, and somehow we stopped dead in line with her, eye to eye. I got down low, settled the camera and, for once, had all the time in the world. Fifteen minutes of it. We thought she was waiting for the jeeps to clear. She wasn’t waiting for anyone. She stood up, ignored the wider gaps, chose the tiniest one, strolled across the road and vanished. Manchali. That nerve runs in the family. Her mother was T1, the first tigress brought to Panna in 2009, when this forest had lost every one of its tigers. T1 raised 13 cubs and rebuilt a kingdom. P151 has carried it forward with four litters of her own. Three months after I took this, a male tiger shadowed her family near Kanchan Nala. She faced him and drove him back. Later that day her 17-month-old daughter fell a little behind, and he took her. So when I look at this frame now, I see more than a bold tigress. I see a mother who has held this ground all her life, and is holding it still. 📍 Panna Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh

🐅When the King Comes Walking The forest was quiet that afternoon. And then, from the shadows, P-663 appeared. He didn't rush. He didn't need to. With every measured step, the dry grass seemed to make way for him. His eyes remained fixed ahead, his posture carried the confidence of an animal that knows exactly where he belongs. P-663 — a dominant and remarkably bold male of Panna National Park.** There is something different about encountering a mature male tiger in the wild. It isn't merely about the size, the stripes, or the photograph you manage to bring home. It is the feeling of standing before an animal that has spent years learning the forest — its trails, its territories, its dangers and its secrets. For a few fleeting moments, our world and his crossed paths. He walked towards us, completely unbothered, offering us a glimpse into a life that exists far beyond the roads and boundaries of our everyday world. No roar. No chase. No spectacle. Just the quiet confidence of a tiger who knows he owns his moment.** This is what we seek at Ankit Kankane Safaris — not simply sightings, but meaningful encounters with the wild.
